Trueskill = 1-50 rank system. People only call it the 1-50 system because people don't know its called the Trueskill system. Bungie stated that it is (The 1-50 Trueskill System) in Halo: Reach in one of their weekly updates.

Source that talks about the trueskill system.

Could you imagine how fun infection would be as Flood? Especially if they implemented the Alpha zombie! They could FINALLY make use of the Flood Juggernaut. :(

I miss the Chief. Bless his soul. I hope we see him again, either in a new game or some other medium.

I miss the epic moments of a good campaign, a decent tank rampage, and the strong story and characterization implemented throughout the rest of the halo series. In Reach, I just didn't give a **** about the other spartans. And frankly, there were not a lot of opportunities to feel for Reach as a planet. The game was only impressive the first go around because it felt important to the rest of the series, but certainly not to itself.

I miss good montages. All the montages in Halo Reach are of power weapons, no DMR kills because its impossible without teammates health. Yes you can get a triple with the DMR, unassisted, but then you have to reload which kills. If only they extended the multikill gap from four seconds to five.

Another thing I miss is having to pick up special abilities. It added strategy having to go pick up the invis and overshield. I wish they had the armor abilities on the map instead of on spawn.

And third, I miss the halo 3 jump heigth and the ability to trick jump and ninja kill someone.

R.I.P. Halo 3, hopefully 343 industries will make a better successor.

Bungie actually fixed this, along the with the fact that the Reach OS wasn't visible like it was in previous games. Go to your recent gametypes list, download one from MM which is closest to what you want, alter and save it to your liking and load up a custom game on a map with the camo powerup. It will still look odd from a first person perspective, but to other players you remain as invisible as possible even when moving at full speed. I now have a fully working Guardian map complete with camo based on Mac xL's remake, it's sweet.

Nope, I'm afraid you're still wrong. The H3 1-50 system used trueskill to match players and award rank ups/rank downs after games, but that does not mean they are one and the same. You're implying that the trueskill system itself works on the basis of a 1-50 value for each player, and H3 just made this visible whereas other games didn't, this is simply not the case. The 1-50 rank wasn't even a direct visible reflection of your trueskill, imo that was the problem with the whole system.

Otherwise what would you say about the wealth of other games which use the trueskill system but don't have a 1-50 rank? Or what about H2 which also had a 1-50 system but didn't use trueskill? Think of like this: trueskill is to the H3 1-50 system as a game engine is to the game itself.

I kinda miss getting into infection games where kids use their personal 1-hit kill game type with modified setting on a horribly forged map, and I'd break out of the map and just rape zombies until they booted me. I played so many custom infection games that the most fun I had was showing kids the fault with their map selection... and made them pay for picking that game type. I especially loved that left 4 dead map. I'd get in that warthog in the hallway blocked by the crate. I'd melee the crate so it was diagonally wedged in the doorway. I'd use the warthog to brace the crate in place. Then a new crate would respawn and wedge the crate in place so nobody could get in.

You never heard of honour rules dude? True they should have been prepared for it if they were inviting randoms, but still, let em have their fun eh?

Honor rules? Seriously? Your definition of honor and mine differ, then. A party leader that sets up 1-hit kill zombies automatically loses face in my book. Trust me, most of the time people try to break out of the map before I do. including the party leaders. I'm just more efficient at doing so, because I've played the map so many more times than most players. In most cases, if people didn't mess with movement settings... I'd never be able to break out of the map in the first place.

Lol @ bolded. If they're doing it themselves then fair enough. I just have less than fond memories of occasionally dropping in to casual set ups like the back and forth sniper games over the cannons on Narrows, and having someone break out and sit behind one of the cannons racking up kills.

    What I do miss

    - Equipment. Everyone should start with Sprint and have AAs on the map like equipment.
    - Guardian
    - SMGs
    - The Pit
    - The hammer being effective
    - Weapon holders
    - High Ground
    - Camo and OS powerups that worked without custom gametypes and were on maps
    - Some armor
    - Detail stripes on armor
    - Ghost Town
    - Longshore
    - the physics of the portable grav lift compared to Reach's
    - The no forge lag
    - The way people played custom games.
    - VIP
    - Some of the custom game settings they took out

    What I don't miss.

    - Standoff
    - BR
    - Sandbox and its rough edges on everything
    - Hayabusa
    - Katana
    - plasma weapons being useless
    - ranking system
    - maps getting revised and having everything that was interesting removed
    - MLG's settings and weapon choice
    - Lack of game modes

    What I like about Reach:

    - Sprint
    - Gameplay mechanics
    - New weapons
    - Forge 2.0
    - Firefight and its customization
    - the new shotgun looks (was better in beta)
    - Having vehicles on maps
    - Sprint
    - Reflection
    - Armor customization
    - Credit system
    - Buying **** with credits
    - Sprint
    - DMR
    - Noble Map pack
    - Plasma weapons being good (were better in beta)
    - Active roster on main menu

Things I don't like in Reach:

    - Vehicles are easy to kill
    - most default maps leave something to desire
    - Armor abilities are available to abuse at all times
    - Armor lock's length and amount you could go in and out of it at a time.
    - Misuse of loadout feature
    - People only play forged maps.
    - Custom games are usually test sessions or mini games.
    - Maps don't utilize powerups or AAs as pickups.

When I was talking about the 1-50 system, I really just meant the visible rank. Almost nothing good came of it, just boosting, trash-talking, early quit-outs, and similar crap. TrueSkill is fine.

the grenades from H3, they were balanced. mostly used for taking down the shields instead of being a ToD sometimes from some people..

Agreed. Less powerful but more precise, I thought they required a higher degree of skill in H3 and really miss them. Despite what you said, they were my 4th ToD overall for H3, but (without actively trying to sound full of myself, but not caring that much if I do) that's because I was good with them. I could place a nade nearly anywhere from anywhere on, say, The Pit. The severely nerfed bounce for the Reach frag really disappoints me, and the fact that they buffed damage to stop them being near useless produced a thoroughly disappointing frag nade imo.

I sorely miss all of the kids who say that Halo: 3 is a terrible game, even though its leagues ahead of the competition, just because there are several minor issues with the game/they suck at it.

    EDIT: Oh wait...

I miss vehicle damage being tied to your own health. It seems like you take a few shots from a DMR and you blow up immediately. I don't know, I just liked vehicles in Halo 3 better, I guess.
