This actually looks like a really good remake of Valhalla, not in terms of accuracy but i think you've done a good job at capturing its essence. You might want to add some action screenshots and maybe a weapons list, it all entices people to download your map.
The way you transformed what Valhalla was into how you wanted to make it is wonderful. The original base of Valhalla is for sure there.
I am very pleased you didn't try to create an exact remake of Valhalla because it just doesn't work, trust me I have tried. But this is very nice. Keeping the original buildings and hills gives it that feel of familiarity. I don't like the grey walls but I know there is nothing you can do about that. My only question is are all the caves still there?
I have seen a few Valhalla remakes, and this is the best one(by far). The bases are almost pixel perfect, and the location for the center cliff looks great. Deffinatly a download, great job!
I just finished a small game on this map with a couple of my friends, and i relay like it. This map is the best remake of valhalla i have seen and for the most part it plays like it. There are some little differences, but there just all the better for changing the gameplay a bit from the orginal. All in all keep up the good work, and ill keep downloading.
Wow, you've gotten really good reviews, guess I'll try it out. I LOVED the original Valhalla, but I promise I'll veiw your remake with an open mind. Cant wait to try it.
Penguin? lol Anywho, I liked Valhalla and this looks like a good remake keeping with the warthog paths and what not. I'll give it a dl.
Havent tried the map, but i just watched the video. The grey walls dont look so good, I know you need them to keep the maps scale right tho. and the poles where the trees usually are look out of place too. i think the map would be fine and look better without them. I wish bungie gave us some more natural stuff to work with like grass and trees, oh well. Anyway, I'll give some more of what I think after I try it. Looks pretty good otherwise. I know from my own forgehub postings that constructive critism is helpful, but can also be annoying sometimes lol.
You will find it much like you remember, I tried to put in all of Valhalla's features and indeed added other features to make gameplay better. Hahaha... it isnt exactly a Pelican so I imagine it a civilian transport, model DD-777. Like a Hummer to a Hum-Vee. You, me and alot of others who Forge....
I would suggest replacing the walls with one enormous, rectangular kill barrier. Looks Nicer. Also, did you put in the forerunner wall/neutral base (the one with the turret)?

Congratulations on forging such an excellent map! I know youve worked tremendously hard on this, and it shows. It looks and feels like any good remake should, familiar yet new and refreshing. It really feels like an updated Valhalla... the only issue Ive seen so far is a slight amount of z-fighting on the base thats farthest inland, but thats a petty criticism and I dont thing you should go through the trouble of updating it just for that. There was also some lag when I flew the Banshee around, but I guess that cant be helped.
this looks really good. the bases and the hill in the middle look great, im not keen on the 'trees' though and the wall looks a bit ugly , but maybe you could improve those areas. although i really dont think you need the trees. on the whole though great!
Folks; if you havent played this you need to - at least once before going on about the 'walls' and 'trees'. They are there for specific reasons; the walls to define the playing area and create LOS and the 'trees' to protect you from the Banshee and vise-versa. You have to play this to appreciate that. I am very glad for the over 10k DL's this has gotten, that alone says something about this map. It is good. The bases are friggin sweet and the lay of the land is well suited for battle. There are alot of good comments from folks on bungie.net and total randoms who have experienced this version of 'Valhalla'. What are you waiting for? Come on and get some suckerphish.
Wow this looks awsome! Escpecially the hill which looks really good. My clan members and I are making a clan home map called Quissential. I do not know how to make download links so if someone could send me a private message on how to post them here and on bungie.net that would be great.
This Valhalla map is great. I definitely like the fact that you made this your own version and not a straight up and down by-the-book remake. Great job aesthetically. Despite the comments from others the 'trees' look nice and add to the map's creativity and orginality in terms of making it your own, also definitely know what you mean when you said you added them for banshee cover...Penguin...classic. Overall very cool looking and fun map. DL and liked
