It WAS fantastic wasn't it. I run the risk of sounding like a douchebag, but maybe the people who don't like Tron: Legacy didn't get it.
At it's heart, it's more about the idea of Transhumanism and the idea of seeking design perfection in an artificial reality. People say: "But the story was so simple" like they expected some big twist at the end. There's nothing wrong with simplicity.
Yeah, but you'd crash an 8 year old's birthday party and complain if someone else got more cake than you. Anyway, Tron is a pretty old film. You should watch Tron: Legacy.
I'm not dissing the story(or lack thereof) at all, it's nonsensical and simplistic. I get that. It's just that the visuals were so hyped up and they were so okay. Same dull greys for the whole movie and the cgi Jeff bridges was very impressive until it started talking. Also for a movie with the name Tron in the title, the character only has like 2 minutes screen time.
A) Despite what you may think, I'm not you. Then again, I talk to people as well, so that comparison doesn't really work. B) Ew cake. C) Saw the "tron" bit coming because you like to argue semantics because there's nothing better to do. D) Try harder. Tron was boring. Nice visuals and soundtrack though.
That's what gets me. I can accept the average plot and story and stuff as it was an audio/visual movie. With the exception of a couple techno beats, it's just a generic movie score. And, like I said, visually it's repetitive. Just dull greys with hints of contrasting colours. Can't fault any of the acting though It killed any significance his sudden change of heart had. haha i shrugged off the change of heart on a whim completely it was expected going into a movie where the good guys and bad guys were color coded rofl [br][/br]Edited by merge: i also must say i highly disagree with calling the soundtrack generic YouTube - Tron Legacy - Soundtrack OST - 15 Solar Sailer - Daft Punk nothing like it has been done so flawlessly. maybe the fact that it mends together so well slightly hides what's really going on beneath the surface, solar sailor does a good job at showing what was accomplished. They didn't go off the wall as much as i'd like i'll admit, but that wasn't the goal of it
