There are few from the 5th gen that I like, but more than D/P/P at least. Snivy looks like the only cool starter, IMO, and the new in-game animations for battles and overworld makes it look like that Nintendo is raising the bar for this franchise. If they have a matchmaking service, like PBR on the Wii did, this will be enough for me to get it on launch. US release is now March 6th, 2011 Sauce (December 27th update). I prefer the Generation IV pokemon over the Generation V. My favourite pokemon (Weavile) is from Generation IV but I still am disappointed with the fourth gen. I just can't get over Lickilicky. It's my most hated pokemon in terms of looks. I'm not that happy about Gen V either but I understand that it's probably not easy trying to design pokemon when they've already created 493 pokemon prior the Gen V. I love Sandile and it's evolutions though. Definitely gotta incorporate it into my team if I end up buying Black/White.
A-****ing-men. Very few to look forward to, but I'm liking most of the rock and ground types, it's a shame there's so few. The robot looking Steels, ridiculous Fighting, and lame Dark types are running rampant within this gen, and they all look so disturbingly generic and bad.
I honestly think tat this gen (gen 5) looks like **** pokemon looks wise. storylineit may just be better, cant really tell, but the pokemon look ****ing retarded IMO.
I agree. Besides the generation I and II, III is my favorite. The starter Pokemon in generation V are seriously ugly.
I've grown to accept them. However, Tepigs evolutions are horrible. If I ever end up choosing Tepig as my starter, it won't be evolving. Also I went through the Gen V Pokemon list and I've listed all the pokemon I thought looked cool. I'll put it in a spoiler so I don't take up so much space. Spoiler Snivy and it's evolutions Oshawott and it's evolutions Lepardas Blitzle and it's evolution Gamageroge Sandile and it's evolutions Purotooga and it's evolution Kibago and it's evolutions Kojondo Wargle Cobalon Terrakion Virizion Reshiram and Zekrom Kyurem Also, I'm tipping Kyurem to be the star Pokemon when they do the third installment.
Honestly I think they should start taking community ideas for pokemon. With so many crap looking pokemon it will be hard to dilute them and impossible to get rid of them, but there is hope to make them a minority again. Serously, what was the guy thinking when he made Ambipoms head? The rest looks fine, but similar to before, so I shoud ruin the head just to make it different?
So I went to EB Games at a local mall while waiting for my buddies to see a movie, and noticed that they were giving out Shiny Raikous that will have an effect in Black and White, if you also get the distributed Shiny Entei and Shiny Suicune. Not only are they Shiny, but they all have movesets composed of moves that they are not normally able to learn. All you have to do is bring your DS, and a 4th gen pokemon game (D/P/P/HG/SS), to a local Gamestop or EB games, and they are only available for limited times. I'm not sure about anywhere else, but Raikou will only be available until the 9th here.
Woo! The pokemans thread has new life! Yes, this event is happening nationwide. Shiny Raikou is being distributed from the 1/3 - 1/9. Shiny Entei is being distributed from 1/17 - 1/23 Shiny Suicune is being distrubed from 1/31 - 2/6 Special moves are in spoilers, just in case you wanna keep it a surprise Spoiler Raikou knows Weather Ball and Extremespeed. Entei knows Flare Blitz and Extremespeed. Suicune knows Sheer Cold and Extremespeed. AND an even cooler treat... Spoiler If you transfer them all to Black or White, you'll unlock an in-game event that gives you the chance to catch Zoroark. And on the topic of Black & White pokemon, I'm starting to like them more and more, and there are some sick new ones for metagame purposes.
I would totally do that as I tried yesterday but I got a new router which uses WPA/WPA2 but for some stupid reason the game only accepts WEP, which is so much slower. I still need to go reserve the two games (one for me and the other for my bro). I played the Jap version but I have no idea what was going on. On my pokemon game I just got a Metagross and was EV training it. How long does it take, level 1-48 I was only killing Nidokings so he got enough of his ATK EVs.
So I decided that I'll definitely be getting this game. I originally was thinking about not buying because I was getting to old for pokemon. Obviously that changed once I picked up HG and started training my team. Australia hasn't got a release date yet though so if it's similar to HG and SS then I'd say we should get it about a week after the US. Also, screw you guys for being able to get Shiny Raikou. D:
I highlighted your flawed logic right there lol. One does not simply get too old for pokemon. I definitely can't wait for Black & White; it's supposed to be as good as gold and silver were when they came out. Plus, like I said before, the pokemon aren't too bad. Oh and just out of curiosity, would anyone want me to re-learn how to do the whole RNG abuse thing where you can breed pokemon that have max IVs and are shiny and whatnot? It would take me some time and I wouldn't be able to do much now seeing as I still have basketball season going on, but come mid-March I'd have plenty of time to go back to my old breeding skills.
Alright guys, I just reserved Pokemon Black and got the shiny Raikou. What are best moves? Currently knows: Zap Cannon Aura Sphere ExtremeSpeed Weather Ball
Well first off, drop Zap Cannon for Thunder, or at the very least Thunderbolt. You'll want to keep Aura Sphere. Now you got a lot of choices here: Sadly, Extremespeed does nothing for Raikou because his attack stat is mediocre, so you'll wanna drop that, and Weather Ball is a straight up gimmick move. You're best bet would be teaching it Calm Mind and Shadow Ball to make a decent special attacker.
Indeed you did. However, I seemed to have forgotten to include to words. "I thought". I changed my mind however and I'll definitely be getting White (I've decided to get White BTW) as soon as I can once it's been released. If I remember correctly, the games got really great reviews. I think it got 40/40 from some Japanese reviewer. I could be wrong however. Also learn RNG abuse again. We need somebody to know it around here.
So I've been re-learning RNG abuse. I've been seeing good results in my breeding endeavors. Give me til the weekend and I'll start doing requests. I'm talking any breedable pokemon, preferred IV's (not necessarily maxed if people wanna run a hidden power set of specific type), nature, egg moves, and if you want em shiny or not. [br][/br]Edited by merge: This is for 4th gen games by the way, and I'll be operating off my Soul Silver (friend code in sig).
I just got wi-fi on my DS, and Im not quite sure of what to do with it in regards to pokemon... I have Platinum and HeartGold btw
Well what do you wanna do? If you wanna start doing some trading and/or friendly battling, I think there are a few of us who still rock the 4th gen games, my friend code is sitting in my sig if you ever wanna hit me up for something and I'm sure you could get some other people's codes on here, and I can bet we'll see a bit more activity once Black and White hit shelves. You can also go to the Wi-Fi center in the game and offer pokemon up for trades for specific pokemon in return and, likewise accept someone's trade offer (you can find the occasional gem this way).
Hmm, does anybody have an Arceus to lend to me? Ive beaten HeartGold 2.5 times, yet Ive never got the chance to acess the Sinjoh Ruins 'till now, but I dont think any Arceus event is happening soon
I think there was an event for Pokemon Diamond & Pearl that allowed you to get an Arceus. But seeing you don't have those games I guess it doesn't really help. There is not an Arceus event coming up for Heartgold & Soulsilver either. However, if you'd like to be kept up to date on Wi-fi events for Heartgold and Soulsilver, may I recommend this page. It keeps a list of all past, present and future wi-fi events for the games. Also here is a link to the main page: Serebii.net
