I haven't seen anyone else discover this, but if someone has, disregard this thread. I discovered this on my own, and I'm not sure if anyone else has done it yet.

It is possible to drive a warthog into the lower level of Sword Base in campaign. I don't mean the part of the multiplayer map, I mean the room where you fight the hunters. The warthog can be driven into the elevator, but it doesn't really fit so when you activate the elevator, it spazzes out and expoldes, likely killing you.

To get a warthog into the base:
    1. drive the warthog into the "gatehouse" to the courtyard where the target locator is available upon returning to Sword Base (after activating the AA gun and the other objective).
    2. Exit the gatehouse back the way you came, not into the courtyard, on foot and grab a ghost.
    3. Use the ghost or warthog turret to shoot the jersey barrier on the far left, shoot off it's corners.
    4. Back the ghost up so it's rear is wedged in between the barrier and curb.
    5. Drive the warthog over the ghost like a ramp.

To get a ghost into the base: When I took the warthog in, it actually pushed the ghost in as well. If this doesn't happen, you may need to find another ghost to ramp off of. This could also be done with a revenant, however, only a ghost will fit in the elevator. Once you take the ghost up the elevator, you can use it until the end of the mission. It fits easily through all doorways inside Sword Base.

Ok, there ya have it. I hope this hasn't been posted before...

It's possible, I did it. You have to sort of turn the warthog 90[sup]o[/sup] so it's sideways. Then you just take the elevator, kill the covenant in the room, and double back to the warthog, take out and whala!

Yea, that's as far as I managed to get it. Even got a Wraith to where the Hunters are by piling up vehicles. I stacked all the vehicles in the level (except the Ghosts and Revenants... cuz I killed them). It was really easy to use one Wraith as a ramp for the other. What was weird is that the Wraiths can disappear if they stay out of camera too long. :( Tried for an hour to wedge my hog into the elevator... :/

I got a Transport Hog no less all the way through Sword Base, it was so awesome.
But no, you don't need a Ghost ramp, just a bit of determined ramming

I've seen posts on Bungie.net stating that the 'Hog doesn't always blow up in the elevator.

One person on Bungie.net, when glitching a Forklift into the elevator, broke the map; they and their Co-op partners teleported outside the elevator (at the bottom) as it went up. A loading point was tripped, so the elevator code was deactivated (they couldn't call it back down) and they could not move very far out of the map (as an invisible wall was spawned behind them). The game continued like this, auto-checkpointing every five minutes, until they ended it.

if you're in co-op u can also have one guy armorlock and drive the hog over him as he armor locks, and then gauss cannon the hunters to death.

I did this first time i played campaign, most people probably didn't publicize it because it not really beneficial(besides killing hunters quicker), Theirs a lot of little "spots" like this in campaign doubt people will show them all off, Just gotta keep a eye out ;)

Just a few little more things i found about this spot, Can drive warthogs/revenant/ghosts over the barrier without anything else just using the lumps. Also you can get marines up the elevator for more help.

    Lol, I wonder why...

How do you get in a Wraith in that mission? The same way you get in AA Wraiths in Halo 3?

Actually in campaign and firefight when you melee a wraith it will get to the point of near-destruction. At this point the driver will die and fall out. You can drive it but it will be destroyed by something equivelant to or greater than a melee..

The no-damage way is to kill the grunt in the turret, plasma the wraith, hop into the turret. Once you do that, the elite jumps out and you gun him down. Wraith get.

Well getting a wraith in firefight is easy enough, but in ONI Sword Base,I boarded a wraith from the front and when I killed the driver, the wraith was instantly destroyed.

The easiest is the AA wraith trick from halo 3.

Much easier on campaign if you just use Kat as your Armor Lock ramp. Wait until she uses one of those barricades as cover and ram her. She'll Armor Lock and you'll fly right over her.

I did that when i did it on legendary, easiest way to get past the hunters.
You can even user a concussion rifle and blow the warthog over the barricades

The two Wraiths right after you get the target designator. If you're quick with AL, and carry the PP/DMR combo you can clear the foot soldiers then PP the nearest Wraith and jack it. Pretty difficult on Legendary, but its possible. Suggest taking out one Wraith with the TD before trying to jack the 2nd. I've done it a few times. Makes clearing the rest of the level considerably easier.

It's especially useful on Legendary when you're trying not to die for a challenge. Those hunters are always a pain in the neck and somehow always end up killing me...but not anymore! >:]
