The whole point of that is so that you don't use Fixed/Phased weapons. The problem is that it's damn near impossible to balance the most useful weapons on a Flag Stand -- especially when using Edit Coordinates. =_=
Vehicular assault Not sure if people have already made this, but a few days after Reach came out, my friend Uberweaknub and I made a game we call Explosive Cat and Mouse. You set a mongoose as the bomb and another as the goal, then you set bomb carrier traits for full use of the vehicle. Don't forget to set large boundaries and teams for the vehicles. Pick up the bomb and drive while your passenger shoots at the other mongoose, trying to knock it over so you can ram into causing a satisfying explosion. Or set the bomb carrier traits to a faster run speed with unlimited AA usage so he can sneak around with sprint, while his team mate chases them with the decoy mongoose. Just a cool little trick, I thought i'd share. Works with any vehicle.
Sorry for the bump but this thread has helped me alot before I was registered and I would like to contribute. this was in another thread so I will link it. This is very helpful but I take no credit. http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-reach-forge-discussion/114270-weapon-perching.html I also want to say that you can make a destructible bridge really go BOOM! I tried this out once but I have no pics. Using fixed fusioncoils you can make a small portion of a birdge destructible. This next bit is untested but you can put a shield door on top of it with another fusion coil (a charge) sticking out. now you can shoot the charge and the explosion won't kill them but the fall will.
I figured out a way to make a working tractor beam, Star Trek style. I even made a thread about it. Dont know if you would want to include it here, heres the link http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-reach-forge-discussion/114405-falcon-tractor-beam-concept.html
Unlike this guy ^^ I like this thread and I like the tips, and I like you cuz your an optimist. He ^^ Is a pessimist and people with his attitude shouldn't be here. I have a strong feeling that he is butthurt because he was going to do this thread but you did it first I have a feeling that this will get developed into a guide that an asston of people will use to help make good maps while he ^^ is crying. Keep it up! (add the jumppad) This is B3NW FAIL :'( This is you WIN!
Please don't make judgements on persona, although you are correct, I am a pesimist, at first I thought "This guy knows what he is talking about" but then I was all like "Lmao what a brown noser!" I agree, it is a good guide, but at the time of posting, it wasn't clear that he had just re-written guides, it looked as if he had discovered all of them. Anywho, you can carry on down there. Rofelro, doesn't that tickle??
Possible improvements to the vending machine? http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-aesthetic-maps/116483-vending-machine.html#post1322916
Since a member of the community decided to be awesome, posting a link to my Weapon Perching thread, I'd like to bring attention back to these 2 threads that don't seem to be in the list. These are not mine. http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-reach-forge-discussion/113469-how-make-jump-pad.html by iTs_NeXn http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-reach-forge-discussion/113464-how-create-reach-weapon-holder.html by Gunnergrunt
I'll have a mod update the list with all three of those. I think the weapon vendor and weapon holders should just be added to the preexisting sections. Please Add this to the weapon holder section Spoiler [noparse] [/noparse] And add this to the weapon vendor section Spoiler [noparse] [/noparse] And add a new section for jump pads Spoiler [noparse]XXXII. Jump Pad Spoiler [/noparse] Code from the spoilers can just be copied into the correct places
Aww B3NW you do care! Sorry to seem a bit brown =) I was just saying that stuff like this is what helps to strengthen the community, I learn something, I teach it, Everyone wins. But for real add the Jump Pad.
The way he is quoting is what breaks the links. When you click them, they all have the extra text from the BBcode tacked on. The quotes should be edited to link properly but it's fine as is, since you can click the red dot by the quoted name to see the original thread.
I like the idea of this thread, but OP needs to actually be somewhat active. Last time online: October 24th, 2010 Either someone with the ability to moderate this thread, or a new one should be started. Regardless, here are my contributions. Quick property edits This glitch/tip is mainly if you need to change spawn times, colors, physics, and areas of any objects next to each other. For example, you have many warthogs next to each other and need to change the spawn time of each to 1 second and the color to red without having to go to each warthog and doing it over and over again. Here is the tutorial. 1. Set to objects next to each other that you want to have the same properties. Let's say two walls, wall 1 and wall 2. Wall 1 is on the left and wall 2 is on the right. 2. Set walls spawn time to whatever you need. Lets say 96 seconds. 3. Leave the properties menu. 4. Move yourself (using the left thumb-stick) to the left so that your ridicule is not on the wall. (Note: it is not necessary for your ridicule to be off the wall.) 5. While holding the left trigger, push and hold right on the left thumb-stick so that you fly to the right and your ridicule is green and on the wall. 6. Step 5-6 should happen quickly. While you are flying, let go of the left thumb-stick and the trigger and click "X" when your ridicule is green. What will happen is that the properties menu should flash because your ridicule moved off wall 1 and onto wall 2. You should press "X" when your ridicule is green and you have enough speed so that you fly past wall 1. Make sure you press "X" when your ridicule is on wall 1 and is green. 7. You are done. All the properties that you changed on wall 1 have now been transferred to wall 2. This is a simple trick you can use to copy multiple settings of objects. If this has already been posted please let me know. Hoped this helped. Found by Whiteskulleton.
That would be me. It just takes time to convince the moderators to stop being lazy and update things. --- Update: Spoiler Ladders Spoiler Video courtesy of Rifte: YouTube - Reach Forge Tutorials Ep 5: Ladders Drop Pods Spoiler YouTube - Reach Forge Tutorials Ep1: Drop Pods Unparsed Update for Mods to copy in: Spoiler [noparse]XXXIII. Ladders Spoiler Video courtesy of Rifte: YouTube - Reach Forge Tutorials Ep 5: Ladders XXXIV. Drop Pods Spoiler YouTube - Reach Forge Tutorials Ep1: Drop Pods [/noparse] --- I honestly have no clue what you're talking about, although that's probably because I'm drugged up on painkillers after having my wisdom teeth taken out. I'll take a look at it later an try to figure it out.
That's the thing, for this to continue, the OP needs to actually be active to update the thread with relevant info daily or whenever new info shows up. IMO a new thread with an active OP would be more efficient.
Notice how long ago the thread was updated before a mod was notified. also, several of the most recently updated ones have bad links.
How to build Monkey Bars Discovered by accident. Haven't seen this concept posted anywhere else so I may just be the originator for it. The basic concept is fusing a ceiling and one way shield door so that players' heads will "stick" to the ceiling and you'll be able to move, feet dangling, across the ceiling. 1. Create a one way shield door, orange side up, and place at a height where the player will only go through it if they jump. 2. Create just about any flat surface that'll work as your ceiling. 3. Merge the ceiling into the shield door. The surface can be no lower than the thickness of a flat building block from the shield door. Any lower than that and the shield door won't attract you to the ceiling. Personally, I think it looks coolest when you have them merged flush and even. Gives the ceiling a nice blue glow from the shield door and can work as an indicator that the Monkey Bars are there in the first place. Extra info: The monkey bars have a sort of slide effect. Coming at it from a run and jumping onto them, you glide like you're on ice. This could be useful for other purposes. You essentially can't get off the Monkey Bars unless you reach the end of either the shield door or ceiling. Although, it may be possible to overcome this using an inverse version of Rifte's Launch/Jump Pad and crouching instead of jumping. That said, I recommend guard rails so players don't just slide off the edge of the ceiling or shield door. Questions, comments, and concerns all welcome.
