This is a preview of the script, Omega Team. Omega Team Episode 1: Just Another Day (The setting is City on the island of Forge World.) Characters: Omega 1: Team Leader (DMR, Assault Rifle) Omega 2: Sniper (Sniper Rifle, Assault Rifle) Omega 3: Electronics (Spartan Laser, Assault Rifle) Omega 4: Explosives (Rocket Launcher, Grenade Launcher) Omega 5: Rifleman (Assault Rifle, Magnum) Omega 6: Rifleman (DMR, Assault Rifle) AWACS: Dispatcher 4 Civilians 10 Rebels 2 Elites Galm 1 Galm 2 Galm 3 Galm 4 (Screen is Black.) AWACS: Omega Team, you will be patrolling The Farson District today. Please be careful, as violence has risen in that area. Omega 1: Copy that, AWACS. We’ll keep our eyes open. (The screen fades into 3 Warthogs slowly moving through streets in a futuristic neighborhood as the Halo™: Reach Theme song plays. 2 Warthogs have Omega Team inside. The camera shifts to Omega 4, on the Warthog Minigun.) Omega 3: Keep your eyes peeled. Activity is up. (Omega 2 glances at 2 rebels on a ledge. They are unarmed.) Omega 2: I see 2 unarmed rebels on that ledge. Omega 1: Don’t shoot. (The Third warthog is destroyed by a Spartan laser. The other 2 shift their miniguns toward the rebels. Both groups exchange fire at each other. The Spartan with the laser aims toward the second warthog. The members inside the second warthog get out just in time.) Omega 1: TWO! TAKE OUT THE SPARTAN LASER! THREE! DESTROY THEIR FUEL SUPPLY! (Two and Three follow orders as Omega 1 continues to spew out orders. The camera shifts to Two, then three.) Omega 1: FOUR! LIGHT EM UP! FIVE AND SIX, FOLLOW FOUR! (Omega 1 runs into a building. The camera shifts to Omega 3, when Omega 3 uses a jet pack to get on a roof and smack a rebel off.) Omega 4: Just another day. Omega 5: Isn’t it? Omega 6: Watch your flanks. (The rebels fire a few more times, and then retreat to the beaches. Omega Team regroups. Omega 1 calls in for backup.) Omega 1: Alright, there’s a weapon drop coming up. Let’s make the most of it. (The camera shifts to free mode, looking up at a falcon carrying Galm Team in it. Galm Team drops a weapon drop carrying x2 Assault Rifles, x2 Sniper Rifles, x2 Spartan Lasers, x2 Rocket Launchers, x2 Grenade Launchers, x16 grenades, x1 Mounted Machinegun, and 2 of every human power-up. Galm Team then gets out of the Falcon.) Galm 1: Omega 1? Omega 1: Galm 1? Galm 1: Alright, so I guess we have met. This is Galm Team. Omega 1: Omega Team. Omega 4 AND Galm 3: YOU! Omega 4: YOU LEFT ME TO DIE IN THAT SPARTAN MART! Galm 3: YOU TRIED TO BLOW ME UP! Omega 4: YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST PAID ME THE SALES TAX AND EVERYONE WOULD BE HAPPY! Omega 4 AND Galm 3: YOU COST ME… (Omega 4 and Galm 3 say the next two lines in unison) Omega 4: MY SHOP AND A LOT OF MONEY! Galm 3: ALMOST MY LIFE! Omega 4: ALMOST MINE, TOO! Omega 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and Galm 1, 2 and 4: SHUT UP!!!! (Galm 1 smacks Galm 3 in the face with the butt of his assault rifle) Omega 1: Are we ready to go now? Galm 1: If they’re done arguing… Omega 1: I think so. Galm 1: Then let’s get going. (Omega Team and Galm Team run towards the beaches. Omega 4 and Galm 3 stay away from each other on the way.) Dialogue nitpicking: TWO! TAKE OUT THE SPARTAN LASER! THREE! DESTROY THEIR FUEL SUPPLY! Somehow, I feel like a slang-term, i.e. "scrap" or "nix", would fit better than "destroy". FOUR! LIGHT EM UP! FIVE AND SIX, FOLLOW FOUR! "FOUR, FIVE, SIX, LIGHT 'EM UP!" sounds more natural... But who is being "lit up"? Otherwise, I'd be able to judge this a bit better, were I made aware of what genre this is supposed to be. The exchange at the end, for example, is entirely unbecoming of a war drama, but relatively fitting for a comedy.
Oh, my bad. The Genre is supposed to be action, with a hint of comedy.. I'll be sure to keep the constructive criticism in mind.
Hm. Well, that exchange actually could work in an action thing. When I said "drama", I was thinking "The Walking Dead" drama.
