Speculations on Bungie's new game...

Partnership with Blizzard might also be due to the fact that, you know, their Publisher for the next 10 years is Activision-Blizzard.

And just for the record, Bungie stated that they'll be staying with FPS, because that's that they're good at.

There aren't many strong first person mmo's are there? And I hope to god Skyrim has no coop modes except some sort of challenge arena.

 

I think they are making a Halo variant for the PS3. Either that or they are making an MMOFPS-RPG, because a company was working with bungie a few years back on a Halo MMO, but it closed down. You can still see the screenshots from early testing. They MAY even be making an MMOFPS-RPG on the PS3 now that they know how many players that the PS3 can support because of the 256-Player MAG.

 

Blizzard made its name in the real time strategy genre not MMORG, its only since making the warcraft series that they starting doing role playing

 

They definitely aren't making Halo for the PS3 for two reasons. Microsoft owns Halo, and Bungie said they aren't making anymore Halo games.

And whatever they're doing isn't going to be PS3 exclusive, because Activison is more greedy than Microsoft.

Hopefully this doesn't mean they will be moving away from the good 'ol 360.
Perhaps their just branching out.

 

Their next game will be an FPS, Multiplatform, and also have more of a modern spin on it opposed to Halo-style futuristic.

I think it would be like an MMORPG/RPG or a Multiplatformer, as they moved to the PS3 looking for a Server Tester, I don't think they are leaving Xbox though, at least, I hope not. But I would really like to see an RPG style Halo game, they were planning on making one, but the project was canceled. So I hope, as partners with Blizzard, I hope they make an RPG, I not a large fan of MMOs.
