    A Short Story:


    You and your team plunge down a small, narrow tunnel. You land on a hard surface, and damn is it cold. Moments later, Carl falls on top of you, nearly cracking your foot off your leg. "Carl!", you yell, but he's already dead. You push his limp body with difficulty. "Hey Rick!". You look around, blinking for a moment, noticing six of your other friends have fallen too. "Rick!" You look up, "Max! mind helping me up?" you say. He offers a hand and pulls you up. Your vision begins to clear up as you realize that you and your excavation team may not be the only ones here. "It's some kind of ancient structure", Max says. You reply, "If it's ancient, then why the hell is it lit up?" Bill, the trainee doctor, walks off behind a wall to take a piss.


    You hear a couple sudden breaths, as if someone's running right towards you. Bill lets out a sharp scream. You run over and find a gaping hole right where Bill's stomach used to be.


    "What the fu-!"


    This time Max wails as a small glowing ball grapples onto his bare forehead. A high pitched noise suddenly grows higher. You dive just in time to feel a shockwave break through your body. You get up, grab a pistol, and run towards the nearest building. You're out of breath. Your whole body shivers from the cold and fear. You think minutes have passed, but time cannot be measured in this place.


    More quick breaths. Something runs past the dark doorway. You raise your pistol and hear a scream, but this time it's yours.

    Why hello, Forgehub. I'm here to bring another predator map, but this time it's actually quite good, if I say so myself. So basically, I tried to reimagine the pyramid structure in the movie AvP. While I did "steal" some ideas from the movie, I also made my own structures too. The map is hard to explain just with words, so I'll do so later with the pictures.





    How The Gametype Works:


    Everyone has one life. Believe me, it's not as bad as it sounds. It just emphasizes the fact that you want to survive! Not die. Plus, watching the predator play isn't that bad if you ask me.


    Okay, so there's one predator that has good invisibility, enhanced radar, an energy sword, has sprint, and can jump 200% the normal height.


    Here's the twist: The predator can choose between two classes: One lets them use 1 sticky grenade (pretty fun to mess around with people), the other lets them use a spartan laser (for those who have trouble being the predator/or just prefer a laser).

    The humans, on the other hand, are completely visible, have no radar, are poor jumpers, have normal speed, and have shotguns and pistols.


    The predator's goal is to take out the ENTIRE team either one by one or (by some miracle) all at once. Good luck, the level of difficulty depends on the party size.

    Tips
    :

    So you want to figure it out by yourself? Then don't click the spoilers:

    Predator:
    -Take your time! Running in with guns blazing (well, swords actually) is possibly the stupidest thing you can do in this gametype.
    -Save your plasma grenade for those who prefer *camping over exploring

    *When I say camping, I mean those who TRY to camp. It's pretty difficult to camp with this map.

    Humans:

    -Don't be afraid to use ammo. Nine times out of ten you will fire a millisecond too late because the predator is FAST and can jump HIGH.
    -Stay in a GROUP. This is a huge issue because you're almost guaranteed to die if you run off on your own.

    Looks good. I coulda went with the predator being an Elite, however.

    Wut.

    Um, thanks, but I'm not sure what you mean.. Did you play it already? or do you mean I should have made the predator an Elite? In either case, I don't think it's possible to make one side all Elites and the other humans unless it's an invasion gametype.

    Sorry but I dont have XBOX Live, planning to get it sometime in January. I'm suggesting off what I see in the pictures, and I see the the predator is a spartan. It would be cool if the predator was an Elite.

    Sorry for confusing you.

    Wow. The day after I test this it comes out. I remember testing this with my friend Flamingo.(Just to let you know we tested the Sh** outta this map) And it was mighty fun. (especially since I was predator half the game) >:3

    This map has some really good aesthetics combine with no plausible camping spots (If you didn't know, that's a common trait in predator maps) This map is scary good for predator....no really.... It's kinda scary. b 0_0 d

    I had a great time testing this, and I thank you again for using my feedback. I love how it turned out, and BTW, the picture for it is EPIC! You just have to show me how to do that.

    Cool. I was thinking about making a map/gametype similar to this. From the looks of it, you've made it x100 better than I would've. Looks fun.

    Have you considered giving the Predator a Spartan Laser?

    I did consider it, but I think the spartan laser is a bit overpowering (especially since the predator needs unlimited ammo). However, I decided to substitute a plasma grenade, mainly to discourage camping/grouping, but also to give the predator a long-range weapon.

    Can I convince you otherwise?

    I love the original predator map. I wanted to keep it classical, in a sense, while throwing in a few new tweaks like the plasma grenade, sprint, FX, opening tunnel, etc. I thought this combination of both "old" and "new" would both capture the original predator style and make it feel new.

    I created a very similar gametype in Halo 3, everyone had one life and the predator was very fast. It was actually inspired by AvP multiplayer.
    Anyway an interesting addition would be a Spartan Laser for the Predator, it may seem overpowering, but it's difficult to use up close and the laser it emits gives away his position (as well as acting as the Predators Tri-Laser would). I also wonder if you've given thought to alternate AA's for the Predator, like Hologram and Camoflauge.
    In my Halo 3 map, the humans also had the choice of a Sniper, a Shotgun and a Flamer at their spawn, these simulated the AvP weaponry. Extra weapons also added an extra dimmension to the game, and ultimately made it more re-playable.
    You've got a great game here, but it could use some variation from your standard Infection game.

    Nice ideas! I like where you're heading. I tried the spartan laser for one of my previous predator maps and I didn't want to just redo the same gametype so I stuck with the sticky grenade. I like the idea of adding different weapons, that sounds sick, but it might be hard to balance out. I'll definitely look into it.

    One question for anyone who likes predator: should the predator have a hologram or a jet pack?? I think the jet pack would be too much, personally (seeing as the predator can already jump really high), but the combination of holograms, possibly spartan laser, and maybe sprint for the humans, along with other assorted weapons (different classes like in COD maybe)... and that could very well work out :D

    Well I played it wiht a Couple a friends...at 1st I thought ppl were gonna quit because of the whole 1 life dilema..they didnt surprising dint care..But they for some reason some ppl didn't like to use the Predator..I was like WTF? They complained about the Predator lacking a Long Range Weapon..I added the Spartan Lazer it actually made the game more cooler XD Just picture you and your buddies just chilling in a spot and Then you see a little red laser and they scatter all over the place like crazy XD Then they shoot like crazy at the spot where the laser came from..If the Predator wasn't careful with the Spartan laser he would die..it added a mixed gameplay choise for the Predator he wasn't forced to get up close and personal all the time making the humans much more aware of their surroundings..Iff you dont want to add the laser I have no problem with it I just sharing my experience and stuff

    me and my friends had lots of fun on you're map, but why did the predator have to be so weak? i have a friend who must have x ray vision and snipes people bad... maybe put poor camo but more health?

    on a side note i tried a custom gametype where predator has uber health (but can not heal) and has to kill with assassinations. if you anna try that it was fun too ;D

    I believe that's the normal strength for the predator.. at least in Halo gametypes. Plus it's only fair if the predator is weak, otherwise he'd pretty much own. But that sounds like a fair trade, poor camo for more health.. I think it's more of a matter of preference. I personally like good camo for stalking and creeping (lol), but anyone can always just reverse it so I'm not going to make a new gametype for it.
    Edit: Why did your friend have a sniper rifle?
    That sounds really sweet, actually! Could you post it?? I'm really interested to see how it plays and I'm not quite sure how to set it up myself :/
    Plus I can save it onto my fileshare if you don't have enough space

    I don't... I don't believe it. In Halo 3, my friends and I devised (and endlessly played) a gametype exactly like this. Infection, with only one life, with the zombie invisible, incredibly fast and jumpy, with a strong motion tracker, and armed with a sword and a Spartan Laser. The humans were armed with an assault rifle and also ran at normal speed with little jumping ability.

    We called it Predator.

    I'm not saying you co-opted my gametype, but that's ridiculous. I mean, your gametype seems far more serious (we just played on some random Foundry variants or vanilla Sandtrap [adding the twist of vehicles was a great idea sometimes]) and it was more about the theatrics than the skill. Great for a big party.

    I'm getting my friends together, and we are playing this.

    I downloaded this map and played it with some people. Its hilarious to scare people using the plasma grenade. This map makes you work strategies when you are the predator which is something you don't usually see in infection games. Its great fun picking off the stragglers. I was standing completely still and all the humans went right past me. obviously i killed the last one and made him jump a lot.

    I highly recommend others to download this map.

    Lol thanks a lot, I'm glad you enjoyed it!! And yea, it's soo much fun taking out the stragglers. That's the main reason I play the game.. and I'm not just saying that to "promote" my map. The guy who came up with the gametype must be ridiculously creative because there really isn't anything like it, at least imo.

    PS: Not to advertise or anything but I have a new predator-style map that will be coming out fairly soon. That's all I can say though, so keep a lookout!
