I know there are plenty of issues regarding Forge but, I haven't come across anyone mentioning this one; which means its rare or I'm doing something stupid. Before you post JonnyOThan's forum page on B.net, I've been there and his info doesn't help me at all.

Anyways, I've made a map for Neutral One Flag CTF. After spending untold hours I finally got the damn flag to spawn properly when I open the game up in the Custom Games lobby but, the Flag Capture Plate won't "capture the flag." I've played around with all of the labels, I've tried putting another flag stand on top of it (i.e. given that the actual flag stand is not on it...remember: its neutral flag) and nothing works.

On top of this, I keep getting an "Access Denied" message from the ForgeWorld forum on B.net so, I don't even have access to that resource. Anyone have a clue what I'm doing wrong? Or does anyone have a forge world one flag CTF map they've already made that I could have a look at?

    Thanks, Spazcool

It sounds like you have not designated which team the capture plates belong too. If you do that it will most likely fix your problem. If that doesn't work, make sure you have each capture plate designated as ctf_flag_return. Also, make sure you always test your gametypes with one person on each team. A lot of times team specific objects won't spawn in unless a player is on their team. If you have tried all of these things and it still wont work, you can send me an invite over xbox live (GT D0NT SH0OT ME) and I will come in and fix your problem for you.

In addition the above, make sure your items actually have a "shape", but that's set up by default so it sounds more likely you haven't set up the objects with the correct teams, you'll need 3 objects all set to CTF flag respawn set for red, blue and neutral

Two issues: there's only one flag and only one capture plate on the map (do I really need to have two, even for a neutral flag game?) & I have made both items team neutral given that it is a neutral one flag CTF, which team gets it will depend on who gets to the flag first.

In a neutral flag game a single neutral flag spawns on the map and both team have to fight to bring it back to their capture plate, so yes, you need two capture plates. To set up your game mode place two capture plates, one for each team, and designate their team as red and blue. Then place your neutral flag spawn point and designate it as neutral. Also make sure each of these three objects has the game label CTF_FLAG_RETURN.

Further to this, occasionally gametypes won't function correctly unless there are at least 2 players in game with CTF, so make sure you have a guest signed in aswell on a different team.

CTF - Required Item Count: 3
Flag Stand > Blue Team, Gametype Specific True, Spawn Sequence 1, Label CTF_Flag_Return
Flag Stand > Red Team, Gametype Specific True, Spawn Sequence 1, Label CTF_Flag_Return
Flag Stand > Neutral, Gametype Specific True, Spawn Sequence 1, Label CTF_Flag_Return

These are the absolute minimum settings required to have a (somewhat) functional CTF game.

You can find other gametype set up help, Here.

I'll give the additional capture plates a try, I'll post the results. Thanks, by the way.

OMG! It worked! Thank you, I spent well over 5 hours a couple of days ago playing around with the labels on one plate. You're a gamer's best friend.
