Seabeast [tempest]

    SEABEAST
    in the process of creation by Titmar and Skisma

    Seabeast is large, highway style BTB map.
    It is semi-symmetrical, and features a terrain with simple but slight elevations changes and jumps to spice up the boring highway layout.
    Central area has lower tunnel section that allows players to cross safely from side to side.
    Each central side area will have alternate routes as well.

    Map is still in the building stages, but we wanted to make a preview and share the glory with you!!

    That's right, be excited, because Tempest just got a lot bigger.

    its a bit glitchy up there, sometimes the map tries to pull you back into the map and kills you. We are still working out the bugs.
    Also, there seems to be additional bugs when using a race gametype, so be warned.
    it can be a pain forging up there, but i think its worth to be able to escape the restrictive boundaries of tempest.

    And people complained that forging on Tempest was garbage. This'll show them. I love the way you incorporated the default towers into your design, it looks great. I can definitely not wait for this come out, it's gonna be awesome.

    So this is the map Skisma was talking about. This is definitely the first map forged on Tempest to catch my attention. Once I get the Noble Map Pack, I shall wait anxiously for the release of this map.

    Looks like an awesome use of the space up there. I'm curious to see how the integration of the cliff (pics 3 and 5) works with rest of the map. Hope you manage to avoid the bugs you mentioned about the map trying to pull you down. Feel free to send me an invite if you guys are in need of testers (gt: CyborgAnthro).

    I tried fooling around on Tempest for a possible map. It would have to be small, because the way he built this map like he said.. It pulls you back into the base or the (beam) that shoots up for the weather that is located under that base he built. There isn't that much room from there to the ocean, and you can't build high at all.

    I don't understand why they wouldn't extend the sea out further so people can build decent size maps without glitchy gravity pulls.

    I've seen a whole bunch of maps on Tempest but this seems like the only one to truly take advantage of it's scenery yet still maintain originality. I doubt I'd be able to get enough people together to play it when it does come out. Are you doing any testing sessions? I'd love to get a game on this map.

    Testing sessions will definitely be happening hopefully sometime soon. It just depends on how long it takes us to work out the bugs. When the time comes we'll let you know...if we remember;)

    4th picture down, there's a guy sniping on the default tower. Isn't there a soft kill barrier that high up?

    no.
    but it will be blocked from access in the final version of the map.
    the bottom of the soft kill is actually just above your head when you are there,
    when you jump you pass into it for a split second.

    we're 95% sure that we've solved the gravity pull problem.
    i will disclose full details on that once i am 100% sure, because i dont wanna look like a jerk saying the wrong thing lol.
