Glass and lights cause screenlag, and if the map is completely enclosed, windows looking outside will cause screenlag as well.

Yeah I read that guide thoroughly and haven't been able to stab the problem or fix it yet. If an expert can come look at this one view and see if they could help I would be thankful. Its a giant octagonal map, so on the other side this framerate lag issue doesn't happen.

@ Hokets, I feel that guide is sort of out dated now tbh (i will get round to updating it eventually), but having said that, it still may provide you with useful information.

What Rorak said gives a pretty good overview though, lights and glass are some of the biggest problems relating to screenlag.

Natural map geometry also causes screen lag too. Like the waterfall, the sea, grass.. all significantly improve screen lag issues.

As your map's symmetrical and it only occurs at one side.... I'm just wondering are you getting this framerate lag in Forge when you're looking at an initial spawn?

All hologrammed items (Initial spawns, Respawns, Respawn Zones, Objective hills) all generate intense amounts of lag, and don't actually reflect any frame rate issues during a custom game.

as above, have you tested it in a custom game. Both my maps lag in forge, The Forward unto Dawn is really bad! But both are fine in custom games, split screen even! :)

Yeah I blocked off the waterfall that faces the map from the one tiny screen lag area. I'm not even 100% sure that is the cause, because sometimes I get screen lag and sometimes I don't. The framerate lag is not in initial spawn, its a top snipe street facing blue base (waterfall side). I've tried inviting you to take a look but I believe you have been map testing different people's maps. I think there is less lag in a custom game but I think the map needs to be tested, and I would tell everyone (RED SNIPE STREET) seems to be laggy.. Please confirm or deny this in the MLG custom games we run.

Can you add me to your testers list please? I have a solid Octagonal MLG map that can play all the gametypes.

Yeah I've noticed this as well, I guess I'm not sure if this spot does or doesn't have screen lag. I need to run some games on it and just warn people of the area like I told Stevo above.

You could start a Custom Game with just yourself, and check if it lags in Customs that way. Of course, sometimes, lag is also contingent on the number of players/explosions/things in an area; an area could be perfectly fine when empty, but lag badly when players are on it (because it's just this close to lagging on its own).
