    HEY LOOK GUYS A GOOD MAP LET'S NOT COMMENT ON IT.

    Seriously though, Multi has been working on this map for the longest time and it's been beaten to death with testing and frame rate reducing until it has become the fantastic competitive experience it is now.

    Honestly I don't know what else to say right now, I've given just about every suggestion to Multi that I could already, Deo Emerola is a great looking map that plays even better for the supported gametypes (except for CTF and stockpile because of blue side advantage but even that is usually a fun experience). Gorgeous thread presentation as well.

    How has nobody but rifte commented on this? What is going on here? Seriously, great map, great presentation of it too. Had a blast in the one testing session I was part of even though it lagged a bit for me. Guaranteed Dl, it did seem a little open on some spots but other than that it was great, plus I liked the rocket area.

    I only got the chance to play a few games on it, and it really is a great map. I loved playing CTF on this, since it was this great struggle for the flag. I bet Stockpile will play good also.

    Multi, this really is an epic map. I love to see new and interesting concepts like this, and you've done a spectacular job with making sure that everything was tweaked perfectly. Fantastic job, broski.

    Haha yeah, Stockpile is my favorite gametype here. It's definitely much more competitive than a lot of the map I'll play stockpile on, but thanks Cory.
    I think I remember you actually, I do recognize your name from a testing session. Anyways thanks for stopping by bro, I appreciate the love :D
    I love you Rifte, especially for your advice. And seeing a forger as influential and creative as yourself compliment my map, you should know it does carry more water than a lot of compliments I'll get. Thanks bro.

    i saw this thread when it was initially posted and i was impressed,
    but i never ended up getting a chance to get a game in on it until recently.

    i definitely enjoyed it, we played a 4V3 stockpile on it, so uneven teams affected the game,
    but i was impressed by the quality of the forging and the overall feel and design of the map.

    the tactical jump to the middle allowed our smaller team to get some sneaky flag grabs from the middle and escape, and combat varied across the different areas of the map throughout the game.

    im looking forward to getting some more games in on it,
    hopefully with a bigger party next time, because it seemed like it could handle much more easily.

    I was in that game, and we (I was on the team of 4) still won lol. Think it ended up being like 10 to 6, so it wasn't that lopsided. The map played pretty well, I got a lot of DMR kills on it.

    very fun map. Only suggestion I would have is to have more holes in the back wall of blue base for shooting toward the middle. Seems like that hallway temporarily limits combat. When I played it, fighting was much more dyamic over by red base, because players could shoot down from there. Still a great map though

    eh, I disagree a bit. The differences in the bases dont really effect the balance and add variety to the map. I think he should leave it the way it is. Great map by the way

    Didn't expect to see any new posts on this.

    Thanks dude, I like how you gave the map a chance. And stockpile is definitely my favorite gametype to play here, it took quite a few games to get the flag spawns perfect but it all payed off. If you ever have the chance to play another 4v4 or 5v5 perhaps, I hope you give it another chance. The map can really shine if you give it the right circumstances :)

    Yeah Blue base was never intended to feel as isolated as it now stands. That was definitely a result of budget and item complications, and if I had the wiggle room to, I would definitely go back and toy around with the Blue design. Thanks though.

    Yesterday, myself and 7 others downloaded and played around 30 random community maps. This was one of those maps.

    The overall consensus was that this map isn't the most attractive we've seen. The item usage was poor, which led to it not looking as brilliant as it could. On the other hand, the layout was great, and it played pretty good. Everyone had fun for the most part. In the end though, the map was ultimately not a favorite because the framerate was a little rough due to it's overall gigantic sightlines (which played well at least).

    Finally somebody knows how to use forge. I love the object coordination, and the architecture. ****ing amazing looking map bro, can't wait to try it out.

    One question... how's the framerate?

    The overall layout seems fine, but the middle area is kind of ugly due to the many interlocked floorpieces, which, if Im correct, can also lead to some extra lag due to the amount of objects in one area.

    This was my first map, I'd just like to throw that out there, so obviously I didn't have frame rate in mind when I built it. That being said, it's not even too bad in that aspect. The balconies to either base that overlook the entire courtyard will catch some bad screen lag which is much more noticeable when someone sits there with the sniper. But apart from those two lifted areas it's not bad in any sense. Of course this is coming from the map author, you'd need to come up with you own unbias verdict if you'd like to be completely fair.

    Thanks for the footnote at the end :] As it says, yes the Line of Sights in the map are definitely much longer than what most people are accustomed to, but long LoS's aren't necessarily bad. It seems whenever there is one it's always taken by the forging community as an error, I don't believe that to be true at all. However; can long LoS's cause issues? Most definitely, but I believe they work beautifully in this map. As for how the map physically looks, I can't say much being the author, but I've never heard a complaint about how the map is built. However if that's what was agreed upon in your party I'll take that into full consideration with my newer works and I respect it; it's not taken personally.

    However, I'm curious to know if frame rate really was that big of an issue. As I brought to the attention of Nexn when I was testing the only places in the map that caught frame rate issues was while scoped in on the balconies at either base, and at the very starting spawn when the game boots up; which is never ventured at after the initial spawn. But thanks for giving the map a play through, I appreciate it :]

    I really like the interesting ways you used some of the objects to create interesting architecture, especially the way you used the ramps on their sides to create a cantilevered-looking ramp structure. I may have to try that out sometime in one of my creations.
