Ok, for anyone who hasn't seen it yet... YouTube - Mass Effect 3 Reveal Trailer: VGA 2010 Ok, so as we all know our decisions from ME1 and ME2 will factor heavily into this game. The plot is said to involve Commander Shepard traveling the galaxy and rallying armies to come take Earth back from the Reapers who have invaded it with their collector army. One decision I think will definitely factor in from ME2 is the one you make during Legion's loyalty mission. You choose either to brainwash the heretic geth and turn them good, or just kill them entirely. So, if you decided to brainwash them, I am guessing that you will have an army of geth to bring to Earth in ME3. Discuss.
Hmmm... maybe you cant import your character? Because I doubt theres an entirely different character to play as in ME3, there would be way too much voice work to do for two genders of two different main characters.
you're joker if shepard dies. lol. cant wait for this. i think earth's defence is the first thing you do, cos you wont have all the exploration otherwise, cos shepards not gonna roam the galaxy while reapers are pwning earth.
You won't be able to use a playthrough if your Shepard dies. I believe Bioware said that if you import a dead Shepard, it's just a cut scene of his funeral, but I could be wrong.
Nope, the whole game you are searching for people to help with Earth's defense and then you bring them back for the finale.
Yawn, so you basically just go do a bunch of diplomatic missions for other civilizations and find that they too are under reaper attack and so fight to save them. Probably some ancient artifact in there that you use as a weapon. Not Buying a game that's only one play-through and probably 20 hours.
ME1 and ME2 were both about 25-35 hours. I haven't played ME1 but I'm on my 4th play through of 2 and it's still very enjoyable.
It is definitely worth buying. And I'm really surprised at the number of people who haven't played the first one. It's like watching the original Star Wars trilogy and skipping over A New Hope.
Yes, definitely worth renting at least. It has to be one of the best games ever made for the 360. I would also strongly suggest you play through the first one, because one of the coolest features of this trilogy is seing how your previous decisions have affected the people in the game. It helps that the first one is a great game also.
I'm trying to do something really hard for the next year, and yes, that's what she said. For the past couple of years, I've been pretty involved in the gaming industry in terms of hearing every single piece of news the day it's revealed. Mass Effect 2 was an amazing game, my most favorite game of all time, in fact. But whenever I play it, I hate myself for letting me know that SPOILERS Shepard dies, Garrus and Tali return, and even the Collectors actually being Protheans.SPOILERS I always think of how great those surprises would have been had I never read or expected them. So I'm making an oath, right now, that apart from this first teaser trailer and possibly one gameplay clip that is clean of spoilers, I will not watch or read any form of media regarding Mass Effect 3. Wish me luck.
The first game was pretty horrible, I won't lie. It was an amazing story to experience, but actually playing it was agonizing. ME2 improved on gameplay by spades.
Yeah. This is accurate imo. I was sick a few weeks back and did an all missions (minus the stupid minerals/scavenger hunts) paragon run while hopped up on cold medicine and am currently continuing that all missions complete paragon run through ME2. I couldn't have tolerated doing ~30 hours of ME1 again if I was in my right mind. If I get that sick again, or just fantastically bored, I'm going to do the same thing for renegade, so I'll have two complete files to import to ME3. Hopefully ME3 allows you to change class upon import like ME1 to ME2 did, so my paragon and renegade files are all I need.
I actually enjoyed the large majority of it. Minus the long ass elevator rides and the repetitive MAKO driving I thought it was a pretty great game.
Things I hated: Armor/weapon upgrading The huge, colossal labyrinth of weapons and weapon upgrades The weakness of powers compared to pure soldier classes Weapon overheat That goddamn stupid random sniper rifle drift The power 'recovery' system (dear god, 120 seconds????)
As a complete fanboy of the Mass Effect series, I can't lie, the combat in Mass Effect 1 is abysmal beyond excuse in terms of balancing and sheer fun factor. But, I'd say that you spend an equal amount of time, if not more talking to individuals, and seeing as how I loved the universe of Mass Effect, it was enough to keep me invested and continue playing. Luckily, Mass Effect 2 nailed it on both fronts.
