Alright, so a few hours ago I download the Noble Map Pack, I load up tempest and find what? The exact same forge pallette as Forge World... (Except minus a few things)

I was sincerely disappointed when I saw this. I was really looking forward to see what different stuff Tempest would have to offer...

I mean, sure, FW's pallette was great... But can't we see anything new for a change?

    /rant

Anyways, what are your opinions on Tempest?

Aside from the invisible flag stand, it's pretty cool. I love the new rock and the drift wood, and the new man cannons. All in all, I love it! I'm not disappointed that we have the same palette, since bungie already mentioned that it was going to have the same objects, and that it would just serve as another place to forge instead of just forge world.

The big new rock more than makes up for it though in my opinion (the loss of the sea stack).

DRIFTWOOD! It's fun to attempt to make boats out of the driftwood, even though they fail because they hit the kill barrier, or they go to deep in the water.

And I like how the Grav Lifts are actual Foreunner Grav Lifts this time, and not Covenant.

Wow bungie! You could have given the grav lift and vehicle cannon objects the same theme as the man cannons, but no. You had to be lazy.

I havn't got the DLC I dunno if I'm gonna but I reckon(and hope) that most maps will be made in Forge world still because meaning more people will download and play, since there is no real advantage to tempest?

Unless the grav lifts are destructible? making for better switchs.

Who here remembers getting on top of those firing towers in Halo 1? Used to have fun standing over the hole then *bam*. :( Wouldn't it have been great i fyou could forge way up there and use that hazard somehow? ****, yea... :( *single tear* Not exactly related to the palette but eh. >_>

OT: I'm sure we're going to see some log cabins in the near future...

yeah, its not so much the palette that dissapoints me, its the area to forge within.

    I'm with you somewhat.

I was expecting mainly the same objects because if there had been many new ones they would have advertised the new objects to get more people to buy the maps, but...

I didn't think we would go backwards with some objects lmao.

The lack of sea stacks is a major downgrade to me, despite the new big rock wall object, which is awesome. But there are lots of caves and stuff so its not a big deal.

And I don't get whats with the tiny tiny rock and the pieces of wood. I can't build anything from a 1 foot rock or a 1 foot long log lmao.

I like the new man cannons though. They look much better than the covenant ones. But I dislike mancannons and rarely put them in my maps so that doesn't help me much lmao. :( I was hoping for new teleporters too since I prefer teleporters to man cannons but no those had to stay the same lol.

Well, those can be really useful for fine aesthetic details - many times I've wished for small structure objects in Forge World other than the column. There's almost nothing unless you embed stuff into the ground and just have the tips poking out.

However, the new small stuff is still not that useful since the limit on number of objects is the same. I'm a cave map veteran now - Speleology is all cave, and my newest work in progress Arctic Outpost has a cave base in a largely forerunner map. And in both cases, those 50 rocks went way too quickly. Bungie seems to view them as simply decoration, which puts a cramp in some of my forging plans, unfortunately. (Of course we could all use more than 100 building blocks too. I really don't get the logic of 100 inclines and 100 decorative objects, with just 100 blocks and 50 walls. Isn't almost any forger using way more of the latter two categories than the first two?)

Tempest offers the exact same forging possibilities as ForgeWorld does with a slight atmospheric change. We would have been better off without a palette so people are forced to make things on forgeworld.

Can anyone provide me with some screenshots of the new stuff or link me to them? want to see what I'm missing because I won't spend 10€ on 3 maps for 1 average game

Not EXACTLY the same. There are some objects on Forge World that are not on Tempest, such as the Shade and Falcon. The Revenant and a few others are also gone on Tempest

I am actually mad about the the fact that they fixed the angle rotation or objects on tempest and not FW... <3 bungie for giving a map with about half the possibilities and fix a huge annoyance...

I'm a little disappointed. The maps are overall pretty good but there really should have been some new forge objects to work with.

Yeah I really wish they would have added more items, what really would have been cool is if they would let you place trees in tempest.

it was never intended to be a forge map pack.
i agree that it'd be nice to have a whole new forge world already,
but really we should be happy with what we got,
and be happy that we have 3 maps that play great

Maybe Bungie should just port over Sandbox with all of its original pieces (but upsized a little bit) and remove the Guardian Towers instead of slapping the Forge World palette onto a new map and claiming it to be a new Forge map.

I guess I can agree with you there.

However, when (or if) we do get a "New Forge World" I hope we get a better pallette than even what FW has to offer.
