Starting out as kind of a veteran to racetracks, I went out to try something new. Something... Big. I decided to make a goal of making a track with a lap time longer than 1:20. And I also wanted 3 banked waves, inverted turns, shield door jumps, a grid drift turn, and the biggest banked tun ever made in halo reach. I thought these goals to be impossible to achieve all in one track... But it turns out, the track track that I almost deleted not long after the start, ended up reaching all of those goals and setting an example for other forgers to come. I welcome you to tack a drive on... Prodigy. When I first started to make Prodigy... I started with the hill on the top of the map. I made it using just coordinates and it was smooth and I liked it. I then had it do a flat turn into another straight away and go into the coliseum and have a small turn inside of that. I thought, its cool and all but... Idk if I really like it... So, I deleted all of it but the hill. Then xX ZOR Xx helped me make a shield door bounce off of the hill. I liked it. It was very consistent, and only failed 1 out of every 10 tries. So we kept it. Then he told me to try a new style. I wanted to take on this offer and try something new... So I did. Before this track, I would start making a hill going up, and then I would angle it into a turn, and then once it was angled down like a hill, i'd smooth the hill out til it was flat, this way all turns where like a big "U". I started not liking this style after I made Subterranean Hollow. It's a good track but not great. I like what I did with it but I dont like how I used the space available. It's a small track with basic turns, all entangled into a tiny area. But I look at some tracks from Halo 3, some of the most popular tracks, and I thought to myself... what do those have that mine don't have? And I came to a conclusion... Banked waves, turns that turn and go up at the same time other than go up then turn, consistent turning pieces, uniqueness. And I decided to try to do that with Prodigy. I made the grid turn with hundreds of rocks underneath it. unique. I made 3 banked waves, never done those before, I made the biggest banked turn in reach, never done that before, make a track with 1:21 second lap time, never even came CLOSE to that before. Inverted turn, spirals, and many more things I incorporated in this track that I had not done before... This track is DEFINITELY not my style, AT ALL. This is something new I was trying and I hope it works out. Give it a download, and give me some feedback. Thanks for reding this far, off to pictures! All pictures where taken and edited by yours truly. =) Click this picture to download!
Woah this looks insane. Normally I only really take interest in 'MLG style' maps but this looks very good as far as race tracks go Well done!
Thanks! It's great to hear that. It's also good to hear that non racetrack junkies are taking interest in some tracks. Yay, thanks! Lemme know your feedback if you do DL.
Wow deffinate download for me, there's something really satisfying about banked turns, and with four of them... Oh wow.
Thanks. And I think u mean banked "waves"? And there are three of those. Waves are banked turns that are turning but dipping down at the same time and it looks like a wave curling over. =)
Is that actually the biggest bank turn ever made in reach? For some reason, I just doubt that it is. But if it's true then that is pretty cool. Either way you got a DL and I'm not even that big of a race guy.
This map is unfreakinbelievable! By far the best racing map on Halo, will download for sure. I love the rock area idea, very original.
I'm a member of multiple forging sites, and I've downloaded tons of race maps, if not hundreds so far. I have never seen a turn as big as mine. In the picture it is smaller than it seems, drive on it yourself and I believe you'll see why. I also used more than 3/4 of all of the inclines on that turn. Some of my forging friends call it, "The never ending turn". Lemme know what you think after u race on it. Kudos, And don't thank me for the rock idea, thank xX ZOR Xx. He put that together.
I am sure I have played this map before. Did you have a few test runs a couple of weeks ago? I think it may have been with Ionized, cookkie monster and yugnoswam. Any way to my point I loved it. I can not encourage people enough to DL it. it runs perfectly, smooth corners, great shield doors and my highlight of it was the grids and rocks. Keep up the good work but now that you have made this your next map needs to be epic on a whole new scale.
This looks simply outstanding. Huge banked waves and huge drops like you have on your map are always fun to race on. I'll definitely give this a download and give it a few laps as as soon as I get back.
Whoa, sounds awesome. Congratulations on that then. I'll definitely give it a DL and let you know what I thought of it.
yeah, I remember that. I'm pretty sure you raced on it. =) Yeah, it seems like everyone is liking the rocks. haha. Thanks! Coming from a track maker who has had tracks featured before, that "outstanding" really stands out for me. I've waited a long time for that word. haha. Thanks! I'm excited to hear your feedback.
Yes bradley, I remember that game specifically! But yeah chung wii, this map is really amazing! It feels like its never ending, and is very smooth and fun! we should collaborate sometime!
sure thing man. Just let me know. Also, let me know how out secret project is going. Who is going first and so on. Thanks for the positive feedback. =)
Very beautiful. I remember when you were worried that you weren't going to be able to put up with making race tracks in this game, and now youre building **** like this. Outstanding dude, keep it up. By the way, is there any sort of battle tracks gametypes yet? That would be beast playing some snippes on this.
There you go Chung Wii, Finally finished it, I got to say it is a very good map, Pretty smooth, the rides great. That damn turn is so long like something i know lol. But yeah bro you did a very good job on it. Aestetics or how ever its spelt is pretty good. Only thing i didnt seem to like but its no biggy, its just me is. Its that check point 6 bank turn. It rides smooth but the style its kind of too rectangular looking. Dont worry about it. But yeah good job bro!
Thanks! Good to hear good feedback. I've always loved ur tracks so a good comment from you makes me feel all warm inside. hahaha. Anyways, yeah. I know what u mean about that turn there. I didn't really have a good decision of what to do from that point so I went with that I thought was the best for that situation. Plus I didn't have a inverted turn at all on the track so I wanted at least one. haha.
This the most amazingly smooth track I have ever seen and definitely my favorite something about that starting point was very nice and had a very unique look, congrats on the largest banked turn, that was truly awesome
Thanks man. I almost turned down the rock idea... And xX ZOR Xx decided to do it while I wasn't looking and I think i'm glad he did actually. haha.
