UPDATE: Due to popular demand, and the fact that I was going to do it anyway, I have made Cathedral compatible with Infection gametypes.

It's what the name says. A cathedral. When I first saw the Brace Large piece in Forge, I immediately thought "Oh my god, this would be perfect for a buttress in a cathedral." So I made a cathedral. It's loosely based off of an amalgam of floor plans and photographs from actual cathedrals, and took a lot of research to put together, and I think it turned out alright.

The narthex (a fancy church architecture word which I believe means "lobby")

Instant trip to heaven, located in the storage area just above the narthex (that word is so fun to say)

Dropped my contact lens, hold on. . .

Would it work well for Infection?

The sacrilege... <3 It's a little dark for me but that adds to the overall theme, so it's all good. You did a great job of making this look like the real thing.

Nice forging! This map looks cool! It really has a cathedral look about it inside and out! Great aesthetics! The health pack is the wrong way but that is very minor and I would add backs to the chairs in the cathedral to create some natural cover, but i'm guessing you haven't much funds left after all the work you have put in to this map! Great job

Wow this map must have been out for a while but when I saw this, speechless. Everything to me is flawless and wow cant wait to DL. I am wondering if there is any specific gametype and if not... Well is there any preffered why to play on this map? Although I know this is in the Aesthetic section I see this as a very good map for anygametype. I can see a Slayer match, players running in and out of the bulding or even an infection of somesort with creepy zombies lurking the players trapped inside. I must say well done on everything and hope a gametype can come up for this map.

That looks really nice. What cathedral did you base it of, looks similar to wells cathedral in England.

Looks real nice, I like the cross with the sword behind the altar. How much budget is left over, though? And where exactly is it built?

I thought this might work out with an Infection gametype where the zombies have to travel from the Hemorrhage area to the pocket area, to make it interesting.

It's on the very edge of the Island (where Paradiso is), partially over the water. The Canyon (where Hemorrhage is) is too far away, and there's a killzone in the way anyway. As for the budget, I don't really know exactly how much is left, but I can't add much more to it. It's not currently compatible with Infection, but I'm going to make an updated version where it is.

The Aesthetics of the map are fantastic and to be honest a cathedral must be the coolest settings for infection. Only problem for infection is that there seems to be little cover for the zombies and could be quite one sided, unless there is a custom gametype...

One last thing, has anyone played red faction 2 because this cathedral really reminds me of a scene from it.

Wow this would be great as an infection map. Holy water + Zombie = ... a wet zombie?

There are a number of stunning aesthetics on this map. I would like to feature this map in an article I am going to write soon, unless you object.

As I forged through it I noticed some issues through out the map.

    1. Weapons were set to phase, and dropping them allowed them to float and act as obstacles, and no one could grab the weapon.
    2. The walls were not lined up.
    3. The floors are unnecessarily z-fighting.
    4. The teleport to the crypt was non functional, because it was set to NONE for game type. However, there was a blue initial spawn point for infection. A Zombie could spawn in the crypt with no apparent way out.
    5. For symmetrical team games, the spawning is not symmetrical. All of the red team are outside the church building away from the KOTH (for example).

With all the negatives I wrote above, let me tell you how inspiring the work was - how you used the braces to form walls, etc. I am now thinking of making a similar church theme map BECAUSE your work has blazed the trail on how to do it right better than any other. I want to feature this map in my article, because it uses the Forge World palette like it should, which is not common really.

I've got no problem with a feature, but I'd prefer that you used Version 2. I got rid of the crypt entirely and added a new area on top of the lobby area.
