Hello Forgehubbers. <3 I am currently almost done with a Lockdown remake and i need people to test, and stay for the entire testing circut. The Circut is 4 games, TS, CTF, Bomb, and Ball. Its pretty close to the original with a few tiny changes to improve gameplay. And please be reminded that this map is still in the Beta Testing phase so nothing currently on the map is permanent. My tag is Controlix so please add me and send me a message saying that you are here for testing. Ill Tell you the callout, and then if i am changing something about it or planning to. Under red base, yes i see the bomb plant point, i need to move it up some. Car tower, i plan to make it smaller. View from blue base, like i said, car tower's size will be reduced. i will be soon, i tried to get everything as close to possible (with Reach's scaling of course) and its basically whenever i feel like getting it tested not yet, i was going to message him soon (before i released it to the public) and was going to ask him to be in on the testing (if he had time that is.)
I am so down with helping test this, I wanted to redo it but I dropped it. Best forged FFA map ever! Hopefully NeXn will get in on this, I was going to try to message him about forging a remake.
I'm interested in checking this out. You have my full permission to remake it without a problem, as I'm not planning on remaking it in Reach. Send me a message on xbl sometime and we can run some games. Also, you should post up some screens, cause I'm really wanting to see how it looks.
Haha nyte, i honestly hate all the people remaking Amplified, Lockdown and Onslaught without permission from Fritzer, Nexnm and company. Other than that i'm eagerly awaiting the outcome. Its been pretty cool to see you grow as a forger since we met

I guess the pressure is on to make the map not suck ha I have permission sir, lol. and thank you, as am i, but i need to test because i have no idea how the spawns are going to be because i dont want terrible spawns on a remake because that would just make me look stupid...well stupider than i already am. andd hey, i grew as a forger because instead of being closed minded and basically saying eff you to people who gave me advice, i took their advice and tired to put it into the maps i produced, and i let people influence me in positive ways, although i still cant get the room based asymmetrical maps to save my life. What happened Nyte still no pictures. Well it doesn't really bother me since I already saw the map yesterday afternoon, but I'm pretty sure you've updated it since then, so pics pl0x.
After i test the map of course. i want to get a list of people that can test i with me so i can fix spawns and stuff
Critique from the pics: 1) The tower's ramps are really steep. The original had them at a little over 30 degrees (32 I think?). These ones look like they are over 45 degrees. You never want a ramp over 35 degrees on an MLG map. 2) Carbine tower looks significantly weaker. It was the main place in the original and it was probably the best part of the map because it was useful, but not over-powerful. 3) The ceiling of the bases are really low. If you are trying to jump on MLG settings you will hit your head. I think you will hit your head on default as well, but I didn't test when dawkings showed me. 4) DNA. There were a few jumps you could do from the DNA to get to the tower street and to the tops of the bases. Most pros didn't do them often, but there were a few semi-pros who did these all the time. It is probably one of the most effective ways to break a ball setup if the other team isn't controlling carbine side. 5) Size. I think it should be scaled down a few forge units. The original was only about 60% as big as this one. With sprint you obviously need to make the map a bit bigger, but the scaling is a bit overboard. Hope this critique helped.
1) they were at 45. i fixed it though. 2) Carbine tower is still the same. 3) Yes i know, im looking into ways to raise the bases and everything with out any extra objects so i can prevent screen lag. 4&5) The scaling is bigger to fit Reach's gameplay. Some of the jumps are not there, i know that, but if you made the map to the proper scale, it would be like Halo 3's Octagon. I like the advice sir, but please play it before you write a book to me. lol and i think you can make a jump or two using the sprint jump. not entirely sure tho.
