They just submitted the new MLG settings to Bungie. Well they still base the starters only on ranged weapons(THough the Needle RIfle is automatic and headshot capable. YAY!) Almost no automatics anywhere in sight(sans NR), and they put in 150 gravity. Eh, on the plus side at least they finally added some CQB in it with the shotty, and they put in the grenade launcher. Plus they consider Jet Pack and Evade to be Pro. I agree almost 90% with these settings. They brought that ol drop spawn back that we all know and love. (well I hated it in Halo 3 but I am optimistic about Reach) They have just submitted the layouts for the maps to Bungie and they should be putting it in matchmaking shortly. So for all you people with life sized of T-squared or that famous Spartan strafing with a BR tacked on your wall, this is the discussion for you. So discuss, chat, and go Pwn some n00bs when the playlist comes out!

The full settings rundown for the freshly released v2 (which will be what you play in the playlist unless something crazy happens between now and its release) can be found here, and they can be downloaded here.

Btw dude, we have a new MLG discussion forum for a reason ;). I've requested a move.

One thing, though. Yes the NR is automatic and headshot capable, but basically not at the same time. If anyone tries holding down the trigger and actually landing a headshot once the shields have popped, I wish them the best of luck. They're going to need it. It's a nice example of bloom working well tbh. Also I'm pretty sure you could hold down the trigger for the CE Pistol as well (though I'm not 100% so don't quote me), and that's basically MLG's holy grail of precision weapons, don't assume you know us so well ;).

You'd think that with the Shotgun being as [over]powerful as it is, MLG would put in the freshly nerfed Sword. With a decreased lunge and sword block, it just seems like a far more balanced power weapon than the Shottie.

    Just my thoughts.

If I could have my Sword in MLG I would be one happy camper (figuratively speaking, of course). Overall I agree that it would be more balanced than the Shotty, I guess they're worried about Sprint/Sword combos, even though I think the parry helps balance that rather well and requires skill to pull off. Either way, I'm pretty happy with either.

You know Halo 3 had the mauler right? The real improvement to close range in Reach MLG is 75% melee damage making it necessary to actually shoot somebody instead of just sprint and punch.

That's what I was afraid of. My bad. Oh and I love the NR man and not because It's full auto. Because of the shots required to pop shields I only use it full auto in CQB situations(Cuz I know about reticule bloom) And it performs far better than the DMR in those situations, although that's just me. ANd the Pistol is my grand slam precision weapon as well. Don't assume you know me so well either lol XD

I'm gonna give my friend back his Black Ops and actually be on more often and accepting invites if anyone is running customs. I know Ladnil has been inviting me for awhile now and I have yet to have time to accept those invites, but I'm gonna be more available here soon. I look forward to playing with you guys soon!
