    Map Description:
    The Blue Line has free drinks. The Red Line offers complimentary pillows. War was unavoidable.

    Well since I finished polishing Embassy and submitted it into Forgetacular I decided it was time to start my next project. For some strange reason I wanted to do a subway and really do a layout some "real world" justice.

    I ran out of budget or I would have kept going but I managed to get team bathrooms, entry and exit platforms and a red & blue line train parked, awaiting passengers to board.

    These subways are standing room only due to lack of room to navigate would there have been seats.

    If anyone wants to help beta test this for me I can get you a copy of the beta file.

    As a heads up, the image for your team bathrooms is the same as your first image (the spawn camera image).

    I love the look of this, though. Not only have you really gotten a good aesthetic feel for a subway system showing nice use of the forerunner object theme, but based on your images it looks like the scale is really well done for both aesthetic and playability purposes. I'm a sucker for some solid aesthetics, and I'd love to have a run around on this just from these few images you've got here. I'll be interested to see what the team spawn bathrooms actually look like, how closed in and spawn hive-esque they are would be my only worry, though obviously that's only wild conjecture based on the name you've given them.

    Thanks for the notice. I fixed the image link. You cant see the stalls at all since they are past the mid-room wall. The bathrooms are somewhat tight and I may be able to expand them a little but I don't see it being too cramped for their purpose (that is what testing is for though).

    Right now the beta map has slayer, koth, oddball, territories and ctf.

    The final version will support every mode save invasion. (Mongeese can ramp across the rails so some of my friends want a rally mode lol..we'll see)

    Alos I just added the map description to my 1st post. Its a good laugh.

    Let's get this out of the way right now...

    In the year 2499 Galactic Toilets unveiled their patented "black hole anti-waste containment philosophy" or BHAWCP, to permenantly obliterate the necessity for waste management and disposal.

    Within the center of each comfort and quality-assured waste interface (toilet seat), there is a miniscule, freely suspended black hole*. So small in fact that Galactic Toilets assures that it will never grow large enough to destroy the planet, at least not until enough waste has been consumed, at which point the 5 -year warranty will allow for your waste interface to be replaced.

    Now there may be some individuals for which privacy and dignity is a concern. Fear not, for "Galactic Toilets has got your backside!" TM

    Whenever one uses the waste interface, a personal cloaking device will render you invisible to all passers-by. But that's not all! Should someone unawares (due to cloaking) attempt to use an occupied waste interface, a harmless force field will activate and repel the individual, at which point an automated AI will direct them to an unoccupied waste interface.

    So there you have it, cutting-edge technology to make the galaxy a cleaner and happier place!


    *Please do not place hands or limbs inside the waste interface. Please do not throw garbage into the waste interface. Please do not attempt to dispose of expired pets in the waste interface. Please do not try to clean the waste interface, as doing so may result in placing of hands or limbs inside waste interface.

    I got to say, love the sinks and bathroom. Its an idea I had tried to implement but couldn't get any further than toilets and stalls. I really didn't figure out the sinks or mirrors. Nicely done, and I may borrow your sinks later.

    Its funny at the moment I am working on a subway map as well, but the difference is its being made for Left For Dead. If forgeworld had more objects I would make it look as aesthetically pleasing and awesome as yours.
    But seriously this looks great. The station looks awesome, the bathrooms are hawt but may I suggest adding some seats to your trains? I don't whether its meant to be a public train or container train, but they look a little empty inside.

    Wow I should be paying you Angel;) Thansk for pointing out my remark.

    I wanted seats nut the xl bridge was the perfect length and width for my needs and If seats were added it would far too clunky. As is the trains are up close and personal with a 3 way battle and was perfect IMO.

    I like some "too close for comfort" situations in my maps. Adds to the intensity....and since shotguns spawn in the back of the trains..well..you know ther'll be some races to 'em.

    I must admit that I don't really like the round walkways coming down from the ceiling. When you added glass decor across the entire upper-levels and removed the turrets, that negated the need for any kind of cover across the middle. To me it doesn't really fit the map. I liked it better when it was open, but that's just my opinion. I'm sure you had a good reason for doing what you did.

    i must say when i first saw this i got fairly scared because i too am working on a subway map centered around 2 trains but after reading your postmost of my fear has been removed. Because of the large differences in design. My trains are wider and have more developed interiors which comes at the price of not being able to develop the station with things such as bathrooms and the outer terminals and second floor as you have done.
    If i may be so brash as to suggest this.im not sure of your budget but i found that railing longs make suitable train tracks when spaced evenly in those troughs the trains travel through. and i think that could really add to your train tacks and make them more realistic.

    I would like to see the route you took for your trains! I did have to make alot of concessions due to the scope of the map.

    About the rails - first I don't have enough money for rails and I find it better that people who fall into the track don't get caught on an aesthetic-only rail system. The blue ramp lines make it look like some kind of future-tech magnent or something anyways.

    I posted a preview containing 2 of my maps (one of which being the subway map) if your curious of the interior of the train (although im considering altering the hand-hold-poles to tin cup flags) i wont link it simply because i dont want to advertise my map on your thread

    And then in terms of the rails, i placed them low enough where theres hardly a bump when you cross them while still being visibly noticable, although if your budget cant support it with all of your other additions i more than understand (im struggling with the buudget on my own map as well)

    This looks excellent. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised after Embassy but still, I can't wait for you to publish this one.

    I easily see some epic battles on this map and I think that Assault will suit this map VERY well too.

    Very cool looking map. I like the aesthetics of it all. And you're train is pretty sweet. Good eye sir!


    Coincidentally, I just finished a map that is also of the same theme... Mine is based off of a 2x3 City Block that includes an underground station near where I live though.
    (U-Bahn is an underground train in Germany/Austria)

    I just updated the initial post with alot of new screens. I am not ready to make this map public but I do need to get it tested.

    I have a version that is totally done in terms of structure but I need to test some game modes. Is anyone willing to help my playtest this tonight. I only need 6 players. If you are interested send me a PM or something.
