You may want to make sure your in multiplayer. Nothing's gonna ruin your day more than discovering their in your mine that they aren't really fake creepers.

I love this game. I only got it about a week ago, but Im playing way too much. Ive had to put the difficulty down to Peaceful now for the reason that My comp is running ridiculously slow lately, so killing pigs is a chore... Anywhoo, my lack of internet for the past few days and for the next while makes me play it more. My main problem being that I couldnt build a damn portal to the nether. I tried building it a bunch of different ways and it didnt work. But then i checked it up and realized I was building it a little bit wrong.... So yeah, its one of my favourite games out there. Its such a big game, and its got more content than most FULL games, and its only in alpha...

So, Someone bought Minecraft for me (<3 youtuber), And I downloaded the .exe, and updated my java like it told me to. Every time I try to run the .exe it pulls up a "Log In" Page, and after I log in it sits there for a minute, vanishes and then never runs anything. What do?
RST, try re-downloading it. If that still doesnt work, check that your computer supports it (****ing lol at your PoS if it doesnt) and that it isnt blocked by parental controls/needs to be ran as admin.
Have you tried downloading the other one? If you've got windows there are 2 different files you can download, for me only one of them worked. On a completely different note, does anybody enjoy farming on MC? I've got a 3 story wheat farm and I'm making a tree farm and possibly a cactus farm, I only really need trees but farming is fun.
I've farmed like 300 blocks of cacti. Not quite sure what to do with it tho :/ I've also farmed a bit of reeds... but turned those into books and bookshelves
I've never really understood the Minecraft craze. But I just sat down and actually played a little bit of it for the first time today, and I have to say I see the appeal. I'll definitely be playing a bit more in the future. But I was extremely surprised and a bit disappointed when I found out it lagged on my netbook. I didn't expect it to need that many resources.. lol.
....Farming I see as a large part of Minecraft. I have a HUGE farm beside my EVEN BIGGER mine beside my RELATIVELY SMALL house. Everything from trees to wheat to cacti. @The guy who complained about lag on netbook... Turn the render distance (or press F) until the render distance is on low or tiny. It should eliminate lag. Anyone have any recommended texture packs for me?
Deafult, lol EDIT: My farming is too crazy now, it started as a past time I would do at night (because night is scary - DAY IS AWSOME!) but now I've started a tree farm, a reed farm and a 3 leveled wheat farm (although there's only 8 dirt blocks per level). I also plan to make an auto cactus farm (if I can be bothered). I reckon that Notch should make it so you can make faggots (don't lol, its a type of fuel thing that is rolled up newspaper) so that crops can be usefull. Anyway on to a question, does anyone know why the crops on my lowest level aren't growing? They're exposed to more light than the other tiers and have a supply of water, I've planted the seeds but they haven't grown for days wheras the other ones have... I just find it annoying, I might make a video showing my island soon (I'm getting sony vegas in around a month).
