Tbh from reading the comment above with the portal, im not surprised about them >_<. Something new like this which he had to do by hand, I wouldn't think that id be perfect. I mean from the mods stand point too, they arent working either in anyway and its not even worth the time trying to add them in atm, if notch is going to be updating it more and more to fix the portal problems and such. He made a portal, made another in Nether, and then spawned underground next to a Spider spawner. When he attempted to dig up the ceiling with all gravel and one layer thick and then he drowned to death from a flooding,.
Base from Viewer: Base Distance from Spawn: I know its not TOO long but still, its rather a walk. If you look very closely you may even see my old base that I made for the night before I found this one. The only thing you can see though is the trench I made under the Ice/Water to get out of it being 7 spiders were on my position lol.
Alright, I have a story to tell about my journey to The Nethers, as I'm actually heading back there as soon as I can to grab what's left of my equipment. I prepared to fight for my life while going through, gathering blocks and the abundance of mushrooms that are around. I ran into a Ghast, it was in proximity of firing it shots. I took my bow and surplus of arrows with me to fight it and kill it. It finally got in firing range for my bow so I shot like crazy and you can actually shoot the Ghast's explosive fireballs back at it! If you hit it with an arrow, it will indeed bounce back and hit where ever it came from. You could use this to hit the blasts back into the Ghast, but I doubt it because they move quite fast for being giant jellyfish. Anyway, all in all in my excursion, I was able to kill two Ghasts before I was surrounded by 7-10 floating Ghasts all shooting me with fireballs. So. Much. Fun.
I though that was a glitch that always happens... I think it has happened for everyone, you never return to your original portal the first time, but I'm not sure why people are complaining - FREE OBSIDIAN! I'm now scared about making a fast travel station because I don't want to loose my save.

Lol obsidian is easy to collect now we have access to nether, also i was trying to fix it by destroying one part of the portal(not the one in my base) and putting dirt in way and it WORKED! it stopped that portal been able to work , but then it creates a random gate right next to the portal or somewhere near in the same area. Again more free obsidian I'm gonna try copying save.(wish my save wasn't 65mbs) Edit: copied save deleted portals and made new portals all in same areas but didn't do anything :S
Notch fixed the spawns I believe with the update and monster spawn alot more even on normal. If you play on hard then you'll have twice as much to deal with. But yes, I do hate when creeper spawn being I know I have to deal with them when morning hits lol.
i can't get string. I try cornering one spider and 3 creepers come running at me.. and i've noticed a TON more monsters in caves/tunnels and i still can't find diamond and i'd try that obsidian spawning thing but i can't find lava -.-
Am I the only one who is actually scared in Minecraft now? I was when I first got it, then I was like lol. Now I am still like lol, but shitting my pants lol.
I'm too scared to even have the game on easy difficulty... The zombies make creepy noises and there was a spawner near my house (I never found it) so whenever I was in my house I could hear constant HUUURRKCCHH and BRAAAAAINZ noises 8/ Noting the stuff about the creeper spawning, are you sure it's just creepers? I play on peaceful and noticed yesterday a large increase in the amount of farm animals.
I think he ****ed up the spawn algorithm. Everything spawns too much. Farm animals even spawn in caves now if there's light :S
So I plan to research the adaptive qualities of the zombie pig-men on minecraft. Do they actually learn about their enviroments, or was that a rumour I picked up somewhere? Hopefully this is true, as I plan to build a bug glass window for viewing.

Yeah but fishing rods break =[ I was fishing some chickens yesterday and my fishing rod broke - its hard to replace one seeing that I can't actually find spiders to kill them for string.
Notch srs needs to rewrite code so Nether is built according to your portal, not the other way around. It pisses me off when my portal doesn't work right and I end up in a small cave under the ocean.
