Just downloaded it now. Don't like it like guy said it reminds me of Windows 98 and all the annoyances of it. Also kinda feels like a Wii now :l But if it helps the kinect people i spouse it is necessary. Wish there was a "theme" type option for people who didn't have kinect or just like it better.
Yeah im downloading it now :/ I agree with William, there should be a option to keep the NXE dashboard.
I want to cry. I thought the xbox 360 was suppose to be the cool system for mature gamers. They're making it way TOO family oriented. Plus, are all of these changes to get ready for Kinect? Whoever designed these changes, such as the xbox logo, dashboard, and game cases really made them an eye sore. I can't look at them for too long. But Microsoft is not gonna change their decision, so we might as well try to get use to it... @ The people discussing changing back to Nxe, I think they'll allow you to do so. When Nxe launched microsoft gave players the option to change back to the original dashboard. Just go to xbox.com and make the changes...
I've had the update for about a month now, I don't think it's nice at all! I don't think they've made many improvements at all.
Agreed... I don't mind the update, it looks nice and clean, but too family oriented. When i went to update the avatar clothes that music was annoying and don't get me started on that mother ****ing cat...
It won't even let me download it. Stupid M$ just being stupid I suppose. I wanted to play some N+ with my friend but it won't let me.
Have it, hate it. All the white is disgustingly hard on my eyes, the logos and **** look like they are directed at kindergardeners, and the loading times are ****ing ridiculous. Additionally, it won't allow me to "update" my avatar's wardrobe, so I basically have none of my bought/awarded things.
Have you gone to the Zune section where you have your videos? I click on something to watch it and it feels like I have a birthday inbetween.
I thought the NXE dashboard had a nice contrast of colors. This one is all white and green and, quite frankly, sucks.
Alright, now that the new update is out, I'll tell you guys what I think. I really like the new theme. It's sleek, smooth and feels a lot less clunky than the old one. The sharp corners don't bother me as much as I though they would. The colors are just a bit too bright, but not enough to really bother me. The one thing I love is the new logo animation when you turn on your Xbox - it's awesome. My only real complaint is that the guide is still really slow. Opening up you're friends list still takes a good 3-5 seconds. I really thought they would address this inconvenience, and I really think they should have. Oh well, at least we still have the Active Roster. Overall, I really like the new dashboard. While it has a few minor problems, it's still a lot better than the old dashboard IMO. Nice work, Microsoft!
God I hate it. I hate it and it won't even let me download it yet. Why do they always have to force these changes on us? Why do we never seem to get choices?
My only real big complaints are the noise when you start/join a party, and how white it is when you press the guide button.
