eden is a Reimagination of my Halo 3 Conquest Map eden. Just like H3 eden, the Reach version is for Conquest only, the maps forging is beautiful and the atmosphere is gripping. But unlike the H3 version, it plays great and in contrast to other Reach Maps, there are no performance difficulties. Looks kinda sexy. I'm going to download this and play a few rounds of conquest on it. I like the use of the sideways columns which form up a wall. You could have settled with a window, coliseum but you took it to the next level and delivered. The curved ceilings create more originality. Very nice map overall
Y-you remade eden? I loved the original eden, it was one of my favorite Conquest maps. I'm so happy you brought it back in Reach. All I can say is that I hope it plays as great as the original. LD, here starts your Reach forging career. I expect great things from you.
Meh... I've never liked Conquest... run forward, die, run forward, kill a little, die, repeat. But this isn't the Conquest thread, so I'll have to give this a DL just to see how shmexy it is, because my, does it looks sexy.
The sideway columns are my little homage to the original eden and its center piece. It's simple, kill the batman If you can't kill the batman, play Conquest on it. It's the only gametype the map is set up for and knowing that conquest maps are just one linear path, Conquest is the only gametype that works on it. I used the name to steal the recognition value, the map itself is nothing like eden from Halo 3 xD I will do my best to accomplish your hopes ^^ But you have to like Conquest if it is on one of my maps, do it, love me, LOVE ME!!
Whoa, I just went through this map in Forge. And man this is really really good. It's perfectly symmetrical and the details are great. This is by far the best conquest map I've seen so far, out of 3. One thing I might recommend is to add a plasma repeater either in the hallway to the grass, or in the little window that shows the tree. Great job, I can't wait for your next. Edit: Saw the plasma rifle by the spiker so ignore the plasma repeater thing, but maybe you could move it to the hallway, really idc.
Nice map! The only issues I found were the team that spawns by trees needs some more cover in the middle. Maybe throw in a few rocks?
I have to agree with Ace. I'm not a big fan of Conquest, but your maps are always breathtaking. I end up playing Conquest just to look around these beautiful maps. By the way, awesome job using a unique space of Forge World. I'm positive this is the first map I've seen constructed up there. Can't wait to see more Conquest (and Cleavage) from you.
When you first showed me this map, i was blown away by the perfection and unique forging style. I had not seen any of your maps from H3, I was on a hiatus during your time forging then. But wow, I can see why you got your fame. The forging on this map is kick ass. That being said, I have slightly tired of Conquest. For some reason it just doesnt have the same spice for me that it used to. But this map does play the gametype beautifully. My only complaint was that I felt the hallways were just a slight bit too wide. But thats a matter of opinion. Weapon placement, aesthetics, starting spawns, everything!! This map has it all, and if you're a fan of Conquest, it will surely not disappoint.
I moved it to the ledge because in the first test sessions, both weaopns were too overused, since both of them are strong, I wanted to have them 'out of the game'. And it worked, people still picked them up, but not as much as before. Well I don't think that's a big problem since the sides swich after each round. You'll see my Cleavage soon enough, I already started building it I personally don't like tiny hallways, you always have to have enough space to strafe without getting in the way of your teammate
yay! Eden got more attention. I knew it was a good map, and it didn't have many views. The thing that really makes this map is the curved architecture. Looks beautiful. Btw me and my friend Dr Killmore started a conquest map last night, and I think it turned out pretty well. Didn't take very and it looks pretty cool to me. If you want it would be nice if you joined my game and gave it a review, or helped a little with weapon placement, or tested it. That would be really nice. Glad to see your map has some nice reviews by some awesome people. Good job LD.
I really, really, want you to adapt this in some way to work with slayer. Firstoff, your downloads will skyrocket if this was a multiple gametype map. Also, I would love it with all my heart. The location and design are absolutely outstanding. This map deserves to be dowloaded by every halo reach owner, but that goal can only be accomplished by making it compatible, despite the work it might take, with other games. If you are not able to do this, For me, I may have to do it myself, but I have no doubt you could do it better. Sincerely, JDB95
Wooow, very beautiful map. The creativity is stunning, you definetly took your time to come up with something unique and creative. I really like how you used the 5x1 blocks to make a very fancy design. I also like how you used the columns to make a design that has never been seen before. The back part of the map with the grass and rocks looks amazing, I like how you blended the structure and natural envoirnment together to make a piece of art. Too bad it's only for conquest. Great work.
