Is there any penalty for getting out of your revenant once in the arena? Other than getting splattered, I guess?
No i had several ideas about** it but decided to just leave it be **giant teleporter for players only.. kill barrier if you touched the floor with feet.. but decided against it cause sometimes you might just get flipped and get right back in
So you don't actually need to get out of your vehicle to score? That's one of the best improvements I've seen in Reach so far. But this does look pretty awesome - and hectic. I'll download it but I won't promise any testing, I'm hardly ever on anymore. If I do I'll try yo get back to this post. Great job, keep it up with the creativity. It seems like everyone is spamming this site with sub-par maps now, so it's nice to see a good one every now and then.
If you want to play ever GT:JDB95. Friend me. I'll even play right now. Btw map looks awesome and idea is great.
I really like this idea. It's very creative. I just downloaded and I hope to try it out with some of my friends this weekend. Great job on the field box. I love the design
do a soft kill barrier. and is there a way to hop out of your revenant, and than somehow launch it in the goal without anyone in it? because vacant revenants can go through shield doors. so you might want to test that.
Awesome, sounds good you should maybe invite me my friends and i wanna test your map this weekend lol we should collaborate [br][/br]Edited by merge: yeah thats a good point. ive made sure that the mines are far enough back that you can just boost your way into them but i suppose if somebody wanted to be a jerk they could try and "launch" and empty revenant in there I guess the rules will just have to suffice and hopefully wont be ruined by idiots thanks for pointing that out though, if it gains enough interest I might update and republish
I played this 1 on 1 with a friend yesterday for like an hour. I was shocked at how much strategy and thinking went in to playing it, it's really well made. I really hope this catches on, it's really cool.
Awesome jimmy im glad you enjoyed it I spent alot of time on it and Im very proud You should keep your eye out, I just finished a 4 way FFA / 8 person Multi-team version that should go live pretty soon even more chaos will ensue
Flag reset Is it supposed to spam flag reset? Also, to prevent players from exiting their vehicles, place a soft kill boundary just above the ground (the Revenant hovers, and isn't affected)
This looks fun, and is extremly creative. The forging is very neat, and i just cant wait to play it with some friends later tonight. You win 5/5 stars from myself: the Noob forger Good Job!
Everyone thank you for your feedback and I apologize to early adopters this map is 2 weeks and probably 9 versions old The final version of Revball will be released within the next few days and I assure you it will be bug free Thank you downloaders and again Im sorry for those of you who recently downloaded the old first version
Dude, ive been playing this all night w/ friends...max props. Send me an invite sometime.. ive got some friends who probably think theyre really good, i need you to set them straight... edit: I tinkered around with your maps just to see what you did with the scoring and took some of your ideas and created a great map for the gametype...i can show you how to make it more efficient
Why puddin why! I should probably explain the overly-dramatic entrance. It's obvious you've been working hard to fix some bugs and want not. I like how you got players on their vehicles outside the arena. BUT, the new arena just doesn't play as well as the first (if that was the first, I'm not sure. Splatterdome?). And to be honest, I thought the first one looked better as well. Even with all these changes, I still could've had fun, but you gave players concussion rifles? That's bullshit. And you know what? All that seemed to do was provoke players to stay out of there vehicles and mindlessly spam shots. The concussion rifle stops and flips the vehicles way too easily. But those are just my opinions, I guess i'll just keep playing on the original. Also, giant pile-up everytime the vehicles go through the teleporters.
Have you played it with me recently I cant seem to remember? and yeah the concussion rifle was an accident it was experimenting when we once played 8v8 (whoaaaa) it was so the passenger had something to shoot Im taking the arena back to its normal dimensions all the ones Ive played in customs lately have just been to get the actual gametype fixed and the scoring uncheatable (which it now is) once I get the arena back to its original 4v4/1:2 dimensions it will be reposted. alongside with the new 1:1 Multi team/4 player FFA variant so i apologize Nibs but dont worry Revball will be back shortly and revball in the splatterdome... wtf no. i had no part in that whatsoever (its horrible) p.s. why didnt you just tell me this when were playing last night? lol
To save people launching revs into goal put a normal shield door so the rev will just bonce off, btw good idea pitty i didn't get my one up first
That's just the thing. I found The Splatterdome to be more enjoyable for a few reasons: 1. The size was PERFECT. This one felt too small and left no room for strategy or teamwork, just chaos. 2. There was no weird teleporter system that sent players tipping upon exit. 3. No one rage quit. Sure when I played there may have still been some bugs that needed worked out, but that's probably all the more reasons I found The Splatterdome to be better. These are of course (again) my opinions.
added to my dl list, will check it out when i get home. i havent really used the forge options a ton, i didnt know you could do vehicle only for the teleporter.
