Screw the normal world, I'm living in the Slip. Anyone else thinking about just building a house of obsidian in the Slip and then fighting off ghasts from a balcony? Ohh, btw, I was right! GHASTS ARE ****ING HUGE! You couldn't really tell from the first pictures Notch gave us unless you looked closely.
I thought about living the the new world ( which the name Slip it wont be ), but I thought id rather not have Ghast shooting at it and destroying it ( being we don't know if a fireball can crack Obsidian at all or over time ). Id just have a small base where my portal is so I dont have to worry about the damn things Oh and I knew they were huge, they take up 4-6 Squares. What scares me the most however is that sometimes they CAN spawn in the real world just near the portal if it has room..
I've also thought about living in the new world but unless the ghosts shoot exploding fireballs I think your safe unless you make your base out of wood But does anyone know if the portals act like the portals in "Portal" where anything can go though? Like pigs, Carts, Arrows?
That wouldn't be possible being the two places are completely separate from one another. As you can see from the videos that i posted alittle ago, a loading screen will be in place, along with you have to stand in the portal to get to the slip.
Yeah I don't watch many videos uses to much of my internet but I thought so just wondering if i could make a tunnel system underground/aboveground with mine carts but oh well, still gonna be Hell fun
I'm actually happy that ghast spawn in peaceful mode! I play peaceful because of the unpredictable location of the enemies, I don't like surprises but if I know where the enemies are gonna be e.g. if I jump through that teleporter I'll find enemies. If you're freaked out about ghasts coming into the real world all you have to do is take a peice away from your portal so its broken. The things that the videos didn't show are how to get obsidian and fishing! EDIT: Also, what's up with the pig men? They don't actually do anything and what do they drop?
They are only going to be peaceful monsters of the Slip. Kinda like natives to the land. If you kill one you will get pig's meat, however just as for warning if you attack one it WILL attack you and attempt to eat you. edit: Just remembered that they will have a REAL purpose later in the future, however just for the update goes, they are just peaceful and don't have a real reason why they are there.

B3NW, I know there are more music tracks, I saw the guy who made the music's blog today and he had uploaded a track/ some tracks that are going to be on minecraft so it's most likely that it's in the next update.
He does have untill Midnight. He said he is releasing it today. Well it really matter on your time zone.
