I was always one of those people that figure if I'm going down, I'm taking you with me. So I'd do as much damage as I could then drop a nade last second. 7 times out of 10 (if I actually dropped the grenade) I'd get a kill. So at this, I enjoy the new grenades What I dislike is the fact that it takes 2 melee hits whether they're already weakened or not. If you're at 25% shields, my melee shouldn't just take out the shields and leave you with full health.
Tbh I think that's pretty fair, I often do the same simply because it's often effective, but 1 DMR shot =/= 'as much damage as possible' imo, so I think it could still be toned down a little and this tactic would be just as effective. I kinda agree, in that many circumstances see me raging for exactly this reason, but overall it decreases the focus on melees which I like. People still seem to think that meleeing is always the best thing to do as soon as you're in range, and I win many battles because of this, being able to rely on the fact that I have a better shot and timing than them. But the settings I use for customs include 75% melee damage, meaning the best of both worlds in that melee focus is reduced, but there's still an advantage to being shots up when you do melee. Still, nothing frustrates me more than AL, even with pocket nukes you at least have to aim.
I just played a game where someone threw a grenade at my feet, and instead of bouncing past me like it should have, it bounced in the direction that came from, on flat ground, and killed me. Also, do frags take longer to blow up now or am I just imagining it?
Did you ****ing see that at the end? PHYSICAL/NORMAL physics on a structural item (1:05)... I just jizzed in my Sangheili armor. I can already see it. Timers set to make arenas fall apart, for starters. Even mechanical type things with the use of grav items and shields.
You can do that in Forge World, just change the object's setting from Phased to Normal under the X menu while holding the object. The structure is still immovable after a new round or in custom games.
Damn, that flyable Pelican and Phantom easter egg is awesome! Anyone else done it yet? The Phantom is so much fun to drive!
yes i did it. i managed to splatter someone with the pelican... needed one of those for the splattertage
I flew the pelican/phantom over the weekend with a friend. It was a lot of fun. Although, we couldn't get in the Pelican gunner, it kinda pissed us off.
Its pretty fun, and yes you can complete the mission in a pelican, you just have to knock the turrets off the towers with the nose of the pelican, which is kinda fun
Or you could be all bad ass and use the no-clip phantom and just detach the turrets by driving through the building. It was fun.
Actually, you can get inside the nose turret. You have to get the Pelican to come in low, then you must crouch-walk against the side of the cockpit, holding RB or X, whichever one is your "action button" and it should let you in. You won't be able to see, but just fire point-blank at the rooftop your Pelican is on, and the turret will fall off, but you can still shoot.
Anybody notice that you can't go past a normal shield door in theater, but you can easily pass though a one-way?
It was the same in halo 3. It SUCKED for machinima, you had to be careful where you placed your shield doors...
I'm wondering if it's updating in waves. I know that I saw people posting that their's updated a day before mine actually did. [br][/br]Edited by merge: I actually kinda feel like a moron. I was always getting annoyed at using the grenade launcher and having grenades explode prematurely. It wasn't until today that I realized that you can hold down the fire trigger and have the grenade launch and not detonate until you release the trigger.
