Endless (Rat Race) Endless A remake of Halo: CE's Rat Race Created by: I tanks I Download Endless Download Endless Pro Supported Gametypes: Multi-flag, Oddball, King of the Hill, Team Slayer, Free for All Slayer. Recommended Gametypes: MLG 5 Flag, MLG TS, MLG FFA, Slayer Pro, Slayer, Multi-Flag, Oddball, and King of the Hill. Recommended Players:4v4 primarly. Also recommend 2v2, 3v3, or FFA. It supports 6v6, but I don't recommend it. 'Endless' is an exact remake with all the original weapons in the original places. Use it with Bungie's default (non-Pro) variants. 'Endless Pro' is the same except it has DMRs instead of Assault Rifles, a Plasma Pistol instead of a Plasma Rifle, and some extra Pistol ammo. Use with MLG variants or Slayer Pro. Description: This is a faithful remake of Rat Race from Halo: CE. It plays very similarly to the original classic, but moves a little quicker because of the scale and "feel" of Reach as compared to CE. I used multiple references to make it; overhead maps of Rat Race, screenshots, videos, and even running around in the original game. Most of the slight discrepancies between the original and this remake are due to object restrictions in Forge. If there's a difference, I probably noticed it, and it was probably unavoidable. This map has not been extensively tested. If you are willing, send me a F/R with 'Rat Race' as the message and I will add you to run customs on it. Or, play it with your friends 4v4 and post feedback here or send me a message in game. If you have feedback, please post it here, positive or negative. I intend on submitting this map for the Forgotten Treasures contest, and so I want it to be the best possible. Now for the good part... This map LOOKS great! But unfortunately it is a tad bit smaller than the original. I think you have the best tunnel of any rat race remake out there though.
Thanks for the comments. Indeed it is a little smaller; this is mostly due to object limit constraints; as you see it now I've used all the building blocks, all of the walls, almost all of the inclines, and most of the the other usable wall/floor/ceiling structures. I am most proud of the tunnel/caves myself; they took by far the longest. Here's a couple more pics (I put them above too): Thanks again for the feedback.
Ah, the good old days of Halo CE. This map looks great. I love the smoothness of how everything lines up (I have OCD for those kind of things.) I'm definitely giving this a DL. Time to get nostalgic!
