Bungie.net : Halo Reach : File Details Sup everyone One thing that bothered me with many of the Forge shots of sprites and pixel-art was that everything was a copy of an already existing sprite (such as a perfect renditions of SMB1 Mario or NES Megaman), and that nobody attempted to do anything unique. So I decided to try my hand at a color-limited pixel-art of something Halo-related. And then this came out as the result. I want to see some critiques from the Forging community about this piece; this was more or less a test of my ability to pixel something in Forge and I want to know what people think of it. I intend on doing more of these in the future, but I can't get very far unless I know what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong. Comments are appreciated and critiques are very welcome. There's a few things I will test out in the future (like getting different shades in the spawn points), but all critiques on this will be taken into account in the future. So... comment away!
It might be recognizable as pixel art, but at that scale it looks like an amorphous blob of random colors with no coherent shape. Sorry D: Yep, IrfanView confirms: it's pretty good at a 1:1 (spawnixel) scale, but at this large size it is unrecognizable.
Yeah, since i knew it was supposed to be a spartan helmet, i could tell the green was the visor and the blue was the helmet, but it was hard to tell exactly. When I zoomed to about 7% actually size, I could really see it. Good work though. I'm sure it took some time to do that, just take your pics further zoomed out in the future.
I had to zoom to 25% and walk across my room to see it but it looks good.................. From a distance.
