Good evening, fellow hubbers. Yes, this indeed my first forum on this site. As we all know, the ideas on the newly introduced Forge World are almost endless. I am a pretty decent forger for my kind, and I got an idea (while showering) a few weeks ago. The Silent Cartographer. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's the fourth mission in the first Halo game, and it was definitley my favorite mission in the campaign. The island on Forge World resembled that mission's island, and I thought "man, who's gonna believe this?". A photo of the island above. So I tried, semi-hard, to remake this map. It was from memory, and for that I did a damn good job on it, too. But I hit a point, like I do in literally almost every map I make, where I ran out of ideas. This is what makes me only a decent forger. My OCD also contributes. But I do not fear that all hope is lost - I feel that one of you kind hubbers can lend a hand. Gamertag = malnack. Well what are you trying to accomplish with you map. Is it going to be for just one game? Is it going to be a recreation of the Classic Halo 1 level down to the objectives and such (via invasion). Or is it going to be a recreation of the halo 1 PC multiplayer level (I forget what it was called)?

You mean Death Island, there is also a halo 2 vista version that i think would be easier to remake ( i forgot the name ). I say go for it it will be a hard undertaking, the island in forgeworld is no where near the same other than its round so you can make a semi inspired map. For the tunnels that run through i suggest teleporters that allow land vehicles etc, i had thought about it but just havn't been brave enough to try and pull it off. PS. if you want i can help i remember the map to a T actually and would love to help make a sweet ass rendition of this level.
Good question, my friend. The gametype Invasion comes to mind. Yes, I have an idea for an Invasion gametype that would take on the form of a campaign mission from the first game. But again, I would like some help with not only the aesthetic appeal of the map, but also some help with a fitting gametype, and how much of the map I should actually create. I agree with everyone else, its a great idea, but very hard to do. still anythings possible and its well worth a try! If it were me, I think I'd ignore the interior structure completely and just focus on the outside area of the map. although you could do the interior seperate somewhere else in forge world and link it by teleporters?
You know, I originally had that same idea; put the innards of the map eslewhere. To tell the truth, the amount of patience that would take... hahaha. Although I'm down with that, if you'd like to try
