"2nd puzzle map in my "Riddle" series." Background Information: So as stated above, this is the second puzzle map in my Halo Reach "Riddle" series. This map implements a checkpoint system like most modern puzzle maps. You start off the puzzle by going through the blue teleporter, and later on you'll unblock the red one to access the rest of the map. This map features puzzle "rooms" instead of individual puzzles. There are multiple puzzles in each room, so don't be decieved by the numbers below! Finally, this map was built in a specific way so the player will be backtracking quite frequently in order to complete different phases of the puzzle. For instance, in the part labled "The Cube", you will not be able to go through the hole in the wall until much later on. Rules: Reach the hill to complete the game. It does not matter if everybody is on the same team, unlike my previous puzzle map, but it is recommended that all players are on one team (any color). This map was designed for one player, but up to six are supported in case you want to do it with friends. DO NOT PLAY AS AN ELITE!! As much as I tried making this puzzle map so you can use an elite model, the elite's larger body cannot fit through a hole near the end of the puzzle. Sorry :/ Tips/Recommendations: If you get stuck and can't get out of a room, DO NOT PANIC! If this is the situation, I suggest checking all the walls for hidden tools as well as your surroundings. This should always be done first. If you can't find anything useful, then you don't need anything! All the objects/weapons/equipment/vehicles on the map are used for something. There are no "fake" ones to throw you off-course. If a vehicle or weapon vanishes, again, don't worry! They are designed to spawn back in their original spot within a second. If they do not spawn in that time frame, then the object does not spawn back. For examle, fusion coils & crates do not spawn after being moved/destroyed. If you absolutely need help, you can always watch my video tutorial for assistance (found on bottom). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ Spawn Room/Hub: You'll be coming back to this room frequently, so be aquainted with the surroundings. A minimum of three times will you pass through this building if you do not accidently kill yourself. Various Puzzles: Puzzle Room 1 "The Cube" Puzzle Room 4 "The Aquadome" Puzzle Room 5 "The Green (But Somehow Yellow?) Room" Puzzle Room 7 "The Ventilation Room" [CHECKPOINT] Puzzle Room 9 "The Backtrack Room" *Shoutout to Dr TecH Ex for creation of this puzzle!* Finale! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~Video Tutorial: YouTube - Xfuel Halo Reach ;; Geminate Riddle Tutorial Please leave your comments/ratings/suggestions below! I appreciate the feedback, positive or negative, and plan on using your feedback in my next puzzle map! Thanks for downloading!!
you don't have a download from me for one reason and one reason only. You keep bragging about how you made the first puzzle on reach, and how it got 19,000 downloads on it's own. Give it a rest forerunner riddle was not that good aside from one challenge. I have nothing against you it is just really really annoying.
i dont really brag about it. i used to, but idk i just copied and pasted most of the stuff from my other post and re-worded them. but thats a lame reason why not to download it. thats like me saying im not downloading your maps because you brag about having the hardest puzzles (i'll admit you do, but still...). "Hello Forgehub, It is I blockhead573 here to talk about the hardest puzzle map you will ever do."
Sick map man, I can tell that you put some effort into this and at the same time made it so it would attract a bigger crowd to not only your puzzle map but also to the whole puzzle community. Great job homes!!
done haha thanks TecH! Cause right after we played that map and we were discussing how we can possibly make it work, I (kinda) found a way by re-arranging all the different parts into this huge room and I thought it came out pretty good.
Thanks a lot man! I'll be sure to mention your name in the YouTube video via shoutout. And speaking of YouTube video, the tutorial is now up and a link has been posted in the OP. If you guys need any help, the video is now uploaded!!
Spoiler dont read unless you want to ruin it for yourself Spoiler lol i beat this with my friends, theres a way to glitch it to the end via butterfly jumping, at the part with the sniper. we sat at that part for like half an hour then one of us accedently found out how to move on. also we failed at the kill ball and got stuck until i brought the sniper bak to get the jetpack. cuase the power cores dont respawn so you cant get another dmr.
yes i know that butterfly jumping thing, which is why I recommend it to be done with 1 player (anyways, if you do get out of the map, you can't skip ahead of anything.) and how'd you get the sniper? because if you played it without modifying it, you shouldn't be able to get it since the red teleporter leads to puzzles totally seperated from the beginning.
if you do the mongoose part and then in the return area walk up to the sheild door by where the red teli goes you can die with the sniper and it will float in the air and you can pick it up
lol thats what i thought it was, but i wasn't sure. idk if im going to release a v2 of this though but yea thats something i gotta keep in mind for my next puzzle. thanks!
haha i saw something similiar in that Ascension puzzle map (more like a jump map, but w/e). If I do, infact, use this in my next puzzle in some way, shape, or form, then I'll be sure to give you a shoutout like I did with TecH!
cool, but... This map is sick, and although i think it's really cool that you did something in forge that i'd been wanting to do since h3's forge but was never skilled enough to do, idk how i feel about the puzzle-solving itself, particularly with your previous map Forerunner Riddle. to me, puzzles should be easy to solve once you know how to do it, the challenge being the act of figuring out the solution. in forerunner riddle (and this map to a lesser degree), no matter how creative the solutions are, just knowing how to do it doesn't cut it. you need to have a fair amount of patience and dumb luck to get through it, which leads to frustration. i guess its kinda tough to make a puzzle the way im describing in a game like halo, or maybe im just not good at puzzle levels in reach, but i just felt like throwing my problems with this map out there. so it doesnt look like im just trashing all over your work and skills, let me just say that im a HUGE fan of puzzles and I really like the fact that you were creative enough to make these is awesome and i can't wait to see what else you've got cooking. sorry for being so wordy.
aren't you on paradoxforums? Cuz if so, i know i dissed you but you are (seem) cool so add me on XBL.
nahh, its all good! the more, the better. im just taking in everything everybody says and applying it to my future maps. but, honestly, I'm so confused on what you mean in the first paragraph. Something about skill doesn't cut it? idk... yea, I'm on there. Actually, I still got to post this on their forums... But yea I'll add you, I just got to remove somebody first.
I watched the video for the map and I really like how everything is so green. It makes it feel more... organic? The challenges themselves looked alright. Nothing too mind-blowing but definitely a good time-waster. I'm excited to see what you have coming up next.
lol cause i was experimenting with the colored objects and idk I wound up making the map yellow (that's not green, according to the game...) but yea I don't know when I'm going to start making another one but I know for sure it's going to be a huge project with a bunch of people making different puzzles. I got some people interested already, and I'm looking for more. So yea anyone reading this, if you'd like to help make my puzzle map hit me up
*cough cough* a certain someone *cough* would be interested *cough cough* if someone is willing to accept.
