Welcome to Dread Deep within the earth lays an abandoned outpost. Dread is a relatively small well organized map which makes for a fast paced combination for short, mid and long ranged fighting. It is built on an interesting piece of forgeword terrain and caved in with rocks to add a very "earthy" feel and also to add the element of elevation changes. Best played with 2v2 or 4 man rumble pit. (for 3v3 or 6 man pit i would advise classic slayer) Dread is definitely competitive but it’s a little more casual than my other maps just for a change of pace. I would like some feedback on how the Asemetry works wether it is balenced or if one side is over powerd. It shouldnt be to much of an issue because all spawn points are nutral so each team can run the side the choose. Weapons: 2x Sniper Rifle (2 min respawn)(1 spare clip) 1x Rocket launcher (2min respawn) (0 spare clips) 1x Shotgun (2 mins respawn) (1 spare clip) 4x DMR 2x Neelde Rifle 1x Needler 4x Plasma Grenades 4x Frag Grenades 3x Healthpacks Purple base, (view from right hand side of green base) Side of the map (to the right of green base and left of purple) ENJOY!!!
This actually looks really cool. It reminds me of Beaver Creek with the river down the middle. However it seems like if an oddball carrier made it up to the top of one of the bases, and his team also had the enemy sniper, it would be an easily won game. If there isn't already you should add a secondary path up to the top of the bases. Not my style of map, but it looks great nonetheless. It's interesting how you made an open area of forgeworld feel completely enclosed (based on the pictures).
I thought the same thing about it being like beaver creek. Don't have many people to play custom games with but will try it out with some 3-4 player matches. Not sure how as Plasma mentions that it would work really well for objective matches. But could be wrong... will try it out and let you know how it worked out.
Actualy, there are 3 different ways into the purple base, and two different ways into the green base. That was also a concern of mine so a took the necesary precautions
It seems like it would be very annoying to play with such dark colors from the effects. The map it self looks very interesting.
The effects are mainly what gives it the underground atmosphere. Pluss, on such a small map the darkness adds a bit of a stealth factor
