I don't think there's anything wrong with looking for testers here - lots of map preview threads explicitly request testers, and the guild takes a week at least to test most maps (and some don't get tested at all). However, I would recommend throwing some screenshots or something in here. There are a million maps around, I don't think a brief and vague text description of any map will get much attention.
Oh thank you, I wasn't aware of the Testers Guild. [br][/br]Edited by merge: I thought about pictures but I really wanted to save that for the finished version that I'm going to post in the Competitive Maps section. I'm going to try out the Testers Guild, I haven't had much luck finding playtesters here before.
Well your OP isn't at all enticing. I mean really, if you clicked on a thread and someone says, "hey guys, help me test this map. My gamertag is XXXXX"... really, does that make you want to play the map? Even if you put a description, it isn't enough, people want to see pictures, and an explanation of the pictures. I guess you could try your luck with the Tester's Guild, but to post there you're required to have a brief description along with pictures anyways. Plus, as el megapwn says, sometimes maps don't even get tested at all, and I can guarantee you it's because the map post just wasn't enticing enough to test.
I did have another thread in a forum I'm more well known on besides just this one asking for playtesters, I didn't think it would be too hard to just get a few custom games in. But it doesn't matter, I'm asking the Testers Guild to look at it, and I'll let them playtest it. If you want to see it, here, there's lots of pictures there. I got the final name for the map, its called Summit, so the codename Around is gone now. I guess if you want to discuss it, post what you think in this thread. Go ahead and ask me questions if you have any.
