i wasn't really that sure where my map would go in the forums so i put it here, it's not really a map but a feature for forgers to use. What i have created is a door mechanism, it is simple, the player moves from A to B, moving the door in the way not by destroying it, but by realistically, opening it. To open the door, the player must move into the weapon holder on the wall (which is meant to be a switch), doing this, you should gain the custom power up, and the door will slide open by itself. afterwards, the door is destroyed where it goes and will be able to respawn back and "close" whenever the creator of the map sets its respawn time to. This isn't really a map, but a demonstration of my design, i am going to use it in my next future map. I made this as a cool little sort of scenic feature that forgers could put into their maps to make their maps more realistic. PICTURES!! I wonder how to open the door? Maybe this button will do the trick? oh my god it opened! Please comment on what you think of this, TO DOWNLOAD THE MAP GO HERE: http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=20569082
lol its actually pretty simple when you think about it, the conveyor belt mechanism sort of gave me the idea of how it works. the only problems i have encountered with it is occasionally you can get stuck to the wall by the grav lift for a short time, and that making it takes up quite a lot of resources if you add all the detail, so you cant have that many on one map. i will try to solve the first problem but unfortunately the second is unsolvable unless there is an update to foundry increasing the number of grav lifts, teleporter receivers, custom powerups and weapon holders you can place.
A bit over the top JAY. Anyway, I'll check it out but this isnt really a map so I dont think it belongs here, could post a screenshot or two
Yes but I and maybe others may not be able to imagine just how it looks. From words, words are confusing. LOL. Also maps can be locked if there are no screens, there should no exception to this rule.
I have a fairly blank map that has two death doors, and two player opened doors. There are plenty of man cannons and grave lifts to do all these mate, the hard part is figuring out how to use them in a map in a way that they look as if they belonged there. In the works though, give me time.
so what stops people from just breaking the pallet? seems like that would be less time consuming and alot easier right?
