My bro just posted our map timeline, I'm just carrying it over here. Cross-posting from the hole that is the Minecraft official forums: For a while now I've been uploading periodic videos displaying my worlds in its current form. My brother (Ell3ment from Halo3 Forge fame) has been helping me build and design this world after it was about 50% constructed. After he began helping me, we started building bigger structures and we made an attempt to fill the world up a little more with buildings inside of our little "town". Here is an early video of my world: Building Count: 1 (July, 11, 2010) YouTube - Minecrafting (Holy ****, I just realized this is from July and you can see the only building on this map is my floating castle. Wow.) Apparently shortly after that initial build I decided to start mimicking structures found in the early 90's MMORPG Ultima Online. I had a lot of memories from this game and remembered its tile system so I figured the buildings would translate pretty well into Minecraft. Displaying the UO Housing that I created: (July, 21, 2010) YouTube - My Minecraft World Nothing was furnished. These were all just shells of houses. I also show off the underwater church that I started to create. Video posted a few days after that showing some furnishing that I started to do. Building count: 10 (July, 25, 2010) part 1: YouTube - My updated world, 1 of 2 part 2: YouTube - My updated world, 2 of 2 During this time I also started to figure out how to compress video at higher quality with better codecs so I could share these videos at 720p without horrible artifacting and overall quality degradation. Also on the 25th I shared my first major construction: A gigantic man-made river leading out to the ocean. YouTube - MEIN BOAT RIDENKRAFT Around the beginning of August I started to create an HD texture pack that has been viewed way more than all of my other videos. I never figured this would get the attention it did, but I was glad others thought the effort was of value. The initial video: YouTube - Minecraft re-texturing WIP A couple days after that, I released my 2nd update where I fixed more textures and had a near complete texture.png all sorted. Video: YouTube - Minecraft HD Texture (update 2) On August 10th, me and my new textures go back through my first house to show what the textures look like during actual gameplay. You also get to see how empty the world still is. Building Count: 13 Video: YouTube - My first building on this map August 26th brought a new addition to my world: A Bakery. YouTube - My Minecraft Bakery I still hadn't really added any new buildings outside of this. I took a small house that I had created and turned it into a small workshop. September 1st is when I uploaded a 3 part video showing what I had created up to that point. Building Count: I don't know, much more than 13 though. First: YouTube - My World 1 of 3 Second: YouTube - My World 2 of 3 Third: YouTube - My World 3 of 3 After this was created my brother and I took on our first mega-project: An Amusement Park. This is probably one of the coolest things in our world and it took a pretty fair amount of time to create. Admittedly, my brother did most of the work on this while I was at work or out of the house. I'd come home and he'd say "Check this out" while nodding toward my TV to show me a new roller coaster he'd built, or an attraction he'd created. (September, 11, 2010) Here it is: YouTube - Minecraft Amusement Park After that was done, we had decided to close our little town off to the outside world by erecting a cobblestone wall around the entire perimeter of what we eventually wanted to be the towns size. This took for-freaking-ever. I can't even go into how much terraforming was done throughout the process of building this world, but the biggest headaches from this definitely came during the wall building phase. Finally, after most of our town has been completed and work pace has died down to a near halt, I decided to build the largest structure yet: A Court House. I used the map deleter tool to get rid of crap loads of earlier explored area so if you're underground and it just seems to stop without any rhyme or reason to it, then that's probably why. I can only think of one area where this may happen, though.
