New comment after i played it ... ITS AMAZING, me and my mates had an FFA slayer game on it,its amazing in every aspect. There was no camping, no power weapon that was too powerful, the map looks good and it plays good. It's better than any of Bungie's maps. Vanilla for matchmaking 5 STAR!!!
Wow, all I can say is this map looks amazing, I may have to take down my map for shame. I applaud you for all your hard work on this, I will recommend it for the next halocharts.com forged friday event in which HC admins and Bungie members participate in customs on Forged treasures.
Thanks Gunner for this map. Its got a great feel to it, and though I haven't played any full matches on it, I already really enjoy it. There are a few unique elements in that stand out, the tiered stair step layout, and the vertical cover, crenellations are great and certainly unique.
This map is truly amazing. I've played it multiple times with Godly and some others and it played excellent each time. It was designed perfectly and the weapons you chose were a good choice to have. The only thing that bugged me was the frame-rate. The Frame-rate would go up and down during the game and got very annoying but it still payed great. Good Job on another excellent map Gunner.
Used this map for a game day on the Halo Waypoint forums. Played a six-person free-for-all slayer. Everyone was quite impressed with it, and said so multiple times during the course of play. bs angel even played it and expressed her approval of it. Thumbs up from me as well!
I'm glad you all enjoyed it! Is this bs angel someone I should know? Thanks Flash! The frame rate is annoying yes. I actually edited a version today that got rid of almost all the framerate problems. If i can get rid of them completely, I'll post that version I'd like to hear how that goes!
bs angel did a blog called Hawty McBloggy for a while. Now she's the Community Manager for 343 Industries.
This is a masterpiece. Your attention to detail is impressive. Unfortunately, it may also be Vanilla's downfall. This otherwise perfect map is riddled with framerate issues, even when played solo. Still, the forging it top-notch. I really liked how you integrated the trees and the river. If it wasn't for the continual slowdowns, I'd describe this map as smooth and seamless. Here's an idea: edit the map and remove any unnecessary components that may be contributing to FPS issues and call it.... VANILLA EXTRACT!
I agree that this is a fantastic map, however I also have to agree that there are frame rate issues with the map and I think there may need to be a v1.1. Otherwise top notch forging!
omg.... this... is so beautiful... I LOVE THE MAP. allthough those trees in the middle may not seem like much, they add a lot to gameplay! its refreshing to see some green and red mixed in with all the grey and (overused) blue! the small plants and tall trees simulate a little life in the dreery grey-a-thon known as any other map. This is amazing and im going to have all my friends download it...
awesome map i'm am no godsend forger or anything, but i have just a tiny little suggestion, change the uppermost roof (the tower above tehtree) into colliseum windows instead of wall, help break some of the grey tone prominent in the map.
I played on this with two other friends last night and I had to say that I had a great time. I never had problems with the spawns, and the map just moved so perfectly. I'm still wondering how you got the colors of the items to show during the game because it never works for me. Oh, the only problems I had with this map were the very little amount of weapons around. I had nothing to pick up half the time. The sword seems a tad overpowered but my friends were able to clang and eventually made me keep loosing. Also, there seems to be a few lag issues, I'm not sure what the problem was because usually the problem is that there are too many things phased together, but I didn't see that in this map. Overall, I love it, just add a few more weapons in so I don't have to die searching each time. =)
to be totally honest, I do not care for this map. Framerate issues aside, every game I've ever played in this map has become a top floor camp fest and all combat centers around the mancannon and the two top hallways, which feature the worst line of sight of the whole map.
This map plays very smooth, I testeed it out on a 4 player FFA Slayer game today. I love the maps design and the tree creates a great atmosphere, but I think it creates framerate issues. At either of the lift zones if you look at the tree at all you get frame lag. If you could fix that somehow, I too belive it could be in a matchmaking playlist.
