I can't stand the lack of control over who gets to forge or not. It would be great if they added the feature back into it. I would be ecstatic if Bungie added an update that allows creators to place an "Eternal Lock" on their forge creations. This way we don't have to worry about some jerk stealing it and passing it off as their own. It was a BIG pain in Halo3 for me. What's up with the "2 Lights Max" limit? What about Multi-Team maps?! I also don't like objects like the "Stair Case" when we can't reverse which direction the ramp is on. And unless I'm misstaken (and I proberly am), isn't a oject's Poly count based on how many faces it has? If so, then why not let up SCALE them? Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for the new measurement system, but it's nowhere near as precise as Bungie made out it to be. I can't move the Guilty Spark at all without accidently moving too far up or down. Why isn't the vertical movement of objects as precise as the horizontal or rotation of them? At least in Halo3 I could move my character up and down to move the object up or down. In Reach, pressing the trigger the smallest bit seems to move it too far. Not to mentio, rotating an object on one axes seems inpossible at times. I'm happy with the look and feel of the objects myself. It's not Halo3, but Halo Reach. But I do wish they would bring back the fence walls, and boxes. Oh Yeah! and REAL CORNER WALLS! I too dislike the drastic item limits feature. What's the point of the forge Credits if we can't use it up on just rocks or walls? The Rock limit is even lower then the wall limit and I had big plans for those rocks.
i have a question, anyone know hoe exactly to place territories on forge world, for some reason the option isn't there. also for some reason it wont even let me play territories or invasion. it is really quite agitating. Added after 2 minutes: SEspider. i agree. those rocks were sparking up some big ideas. i was extremely disappointed in the "2 light limit" as well. overall i agree with everything in your post.
I read this page and the last page, and I'm sure it's somewhere in this thread already.. but what's up with the map-swap thing going on? Where one map replaces another map when you try to load it? I did a 3 hour forging session and recreated an entire map that I designed in Google Sketchup, then saved it and quit. Before I tested it, I did some tweaking on another map of mine, and saved that one and quit. Now, loading the newly created map just loads the one I tweaked a bit.. Meaning all my work has gone down the drain! It was all created in one 3-hour session, with one save. Now that save points to another map.. Any way to stop this from happening? Any way to recover from it without having another save?
Yeah, I've seen that as well. I edit one map (Mount Pain 3.0) and it adds the changes to another (Platipus 2.0). And vice visa. I've also noticed that it'll even save changes in a map when you exit without saving. Someone moved something in my map during a visit (trusly was an accident) and we quit to reset it. I re-selected the map to make sure and the change was still there!
I'm surprised nobody has posted a Tremors map yet. I would have thought that a Tremors map would have come out relatively quickly after the game's official release.
If that is happening then ****... Reach forge will pretty much die. You are correct but with complex objects (like just about everything in reach) scaling in game would result in the object looking bigger but the bounds would still be the same size. (not sure with there game engine but that would happen with mine)
I LOVE REMAKES. Yesterday me and some friends played non stop remakes in custom games. Maps includes: - Beaver Creek - Narrows - Warlock - Lockout - Guardian - MW2 Terminal - Boarding Action Was crazy... I should do more of those, just because remakes are better than the actual map they're based off. On another note I might remake Orbital from H3 but better. I don't know how to make it better, I just will.

Okay... now I'm a little disappointed. I had an idea for an Invasion map using the waterfall. I was gonna try to convert it into a dam and use the water from the waterfall as water coming out of the dam. Problem is... 1.) The waterfall is a soft kill zone. 2.) Nothing behind the waterfall is playable. 3.) You can't use the area at the top of the waterfall, either. Damn you Bungie!!!
is anyone going to make a beaver creek exact remake? i know there are some talented forgers here and have been waiting for it a long time ofor it on halo 3, reach has way better forge so im hopeing it wont be long now!

Its funny how citadel from h3 hasn't been attempted or remade yet despite being forerunner and fitting the forerunner theme perfectly-DONT STEAL MY IDEA IM ALREADY IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING IT!
I always did like Citadel, and wanted to remake it. Never got around to it though - was too busy with an Invasion map I'm making. I think Stockpile and Headhunter would be fantastic on Citadel.
would there be interest in a canvas map that has all the spawns/objectives for all the gametypes already placed and labeled?
you should save it on a local GT for original author, and make it by Canvas - Mick or something like that, that way people know its not stolen. just a thought.
