I've only made 1 map before in Forge, and it didn't take nearly as long as this remake did. That being said, here we go... The following is my entry to Forgotten Treasures 2. This is a remake of Halo 2's "Warlock", which is also a remake of Halo: CE's "Wizard". I am well aware I'm not the first to do this, but of all the ones I've seen, I find mine to be much, much, much, much better. I actually did run Halo 2 beside me while I made this map, just to make sure everything is as close to how it should be as possible. There are 2 versions of this map, default and MLG. You can download the MLG one by clicking that link above, or the Custom Gametype link works too. A thing to note about this map is there is barely any, and when there is, extremely hard to notice, "Z Fighting" (that flashy crap you see on a lot of Forge maps). I took my time to eliminate as much of that as I could. Weapons: Halo: Reach / Halo 2 4 DMR / 4 BR 4 Needler / 4 Needler 4 Plasma Repeater / 4 Plasma Rifle 4 Shotgun / 4 Shotgun 10 Plasma Nades / 12 Plasma Nades 8 Frags / 8 Frags 2 Magnum / 2 Magnum? Active Camoflauge / Active Camoflauge In the MLG variant... Plasma Repeater = Needle Rifle Needler = Magnum Camo spawns in 2:00 rather than the default 3:00. Only Problem I Know Of The floor is actually 6 giant walls, so sometimes it loads them shifted for some reason. I can't fix this, but restarting the game usually will. Screenshots
this looks great, i vaguely remember the map but lookin at the pictures, its like a nostalgic overload.....kinda im gonna download and test but from what i can see great job and il tell you how big a problem the floor is p.s this is my first post in months, my sig is extremely gay
so i played the map. and i got nothing but good comments budget limit was used nicely you still got tons no lag. no z fighting. no bumpy objects. nice detail. all the bases were erorrless. it feels like it from halo 2 exactly. im looking forward to see what else you make. ^_^
I'm a bit disappointed with the lack of feedback I'm getting. Thank you to those who have given feedback, but I hope there are more of you out there that have or plan to try my map.
Awesome Map! This map is probably one of the best remakes for Warlock. He spent a lot of time making sure every game type works, except invasion. There is nothing I disliked about the map. The objects were chosen wisely to make sure they mimic the original as much as possible. As far as I observed, there were no glitching of merged objects. Game play was smooth. And the best thing of all, you can race on it. Forget about shooting people, let just drive around in a small map.
The minute I steped on to the map I was excited. I like how its even divided into four separate colored sections (Red, Blue, Green, Yellow). I realized this when I noticed that the building pieces were actually gently glowing with the teams color. A nearly perfect remake. The only thing I wasn't fond of was that there were four shotguns on the map. I think at most there should be two because it is a small map, but thats personal preference. Overall its basically a perfect remake and very well done. 9/10
I made this as true to the original as I could, so there are actually 4 shotties on the original map. Other than that, thanks!
Awesome work man, runs smooth, no z-fighting, extremely accurate to the original. EDIt Actually, one issue I did find after going back and running around some more was that it was VERY easy to get stuck in the lifts. This thread might help in fixing them. New Reach Forge Tips :: Lifts - MLG Forums EDIT 2 Okay, figured out what was causing the lift issue. I was testing it with the MLG settings, which have a higher gravity setting, which was causing you to not go as high in the lifts as you would on default settings, thus leading you to get stuck in the lifts. Not sure how you want address this, but the above thread should help.
or he could make it like salvation have it barely stick out of the wall (gives it halo 1 feel ) so u still have room to jump down also for small maps lifts are loud in halo 2 it was like silent
