Essence is technically my third competitive map made in Reach so far, but it's the first one that I actually like and feel is worth sharing. (If you know about Archetype, I might end up posting it. I'm not sure yet.) Essence is a symmetrical (inorite?) map built in Forge World's Quarry. It has a very room-based feel to the design but it's not completely made of separate rooms. Each "area" flows into the next better than your typical room-based map would. As of now, it supports all of the "good" (in my opinion) gametypes in Reach. These are Team Slayer, Capture the Flag, Assault, King of the Hill, Oddball, Headhunter, and STOCKPILE. (I love Stockpile ) Here's some pictures: Put your gamertag down if you'd ever like to test.
I don't know what it is, but you're map construction seems better than in Halo 3. Perhaps it's the objects and the tools used, but the map seem much more sturdy and playable than you're previous ones.
Thanks. Are you talking about the 4th picture? It is, trust me. I'm going to be running some tests on this tonight. I'd like to test every gametype, with emphasis on Team Slayer, as that's the category that I'm going to be submitting this in for the Bungie Forgetacular.
Send me a message over XBL so I remember to invite you. (This is for anyone else that isn't on my friends list that would like to test as well.) It'll be going down at about 7:00pm EST.
