From the first time that Forgeworld was revealed, I wanted to make a map on the flat grassy rectangle above the Coliseum. And all the way back to Halo 3's Foundry, I had a map design in my mind that fitted such an area perfectly. In my opinion, the map turned out much better than I ever imagined it could during the Foundry days. So welcome to The Edge.

The Edge is a medium-sized symmetrical map intended for the classic Halo niche: 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 competitive matches. It is a vaguely horseshoe-shaped map with a base at each end and a variety of routes to take between them. One thing I was really focused on were the lines of sight, and there are some really interesting ones on this map that will constantly keep you on your toes. Another interesting feature is the rocky partition separating the bases and the tunnel beneath it, a tunnel which houses something rarely seen in Reach gameplay up to this point: an Overshield. The two mancannons on the cliff side of the map are another cool part of the map.

The Edge features the following weapons, grenades and powerups:

    4 x DMRs (2 spare clips, 30s)
    2 x ARs (2 spare clips, 30s)
    2 x Plasma Repeaters (30s)
    4 x Needle Rifles (2 spare clips, 30s)
    1 x Plasma Pistol (30s)
    2 x Needlers (2 spare clips, 30s)
    2 x Sniper Rifles (1 spare clip, 120s)
    1 x Shotgun (1 spare clip, 120s)
    1 x Rocket Launcher (1 spare clip, 150s)
    1 x Grenade Launcher (3 spare grenades, 90s)

    8 x Frag Grenades (15s)
    8 x Plasma Grenades (15s)

    1 x Overshield (90s)

I hope you enjoy the map and I look forward to any comments. Thanks!

No, I've never played Quake 2. If it resembles a map from that game it's purely incidental.
