The palette and variety of tools at our disposals increased spectacularly from Halo 3 to Halo Reach, which was awesome. However, because Reach is a new game, some of the old exploits from the Halo 3 gametypes don't all carry over. This is one of those unfortunate exceptions. In Halo 3 there was a casual minigame-like game variant called Monster Trucks and in it players were supposed to splatter, shove, squirrel, and even in some cases assassinate his/her way to the last person standing. A death, no matter what caused it, gave a player a -1, while being the last person standing netted you nothing. So, after 10 rounds of epic shenanigans the player that somehow managed to fall off the small map area the least won. To give a more specific breakdown, the gametype had these properties: Base gametype: Slayer - death (or suicide) decrements your score by one - there are no ways to gain points - last person standing simply prevents anything happening to your score - no respawns - played in 10 seperate rounds - only one live per round - no limits to the number of players - 6 minute time limit Specific Tweaks for the gametype: - no bullet damage - damage modifier set to 0% - infinite ammo (it makes you feel better even though it doesn't do anything ) - primary weapon set to pistol - NO grenades EVER - splatters still possible - NO melees, BUT assassination still works - sheilds are normal (no multiplier, normal recharge rate, no vampirism, no headshot immunity) - vehicles still destructible i.e. A ghost a full speed squarely hitting a warthog a full speed results in the ghost exploding - speed set to 25% - gravity set to 200% - full vehicle use - motion tracker mode off - waypoint set to visible to everyone - forced player colors (Pink) I already have the map worked out for Reach, but the gametype is what I'm having troubles with. The true issue I'm having is that the damage modifier in Reach also modifies the damage a player does with a vehicle (i.e. splatter) and melee weapons as well as gun damage. This throws the entire game off and makes it play more akin to sumo. If anyone can help me with this issue it would be greatly appreciated and if you're interested in getting your hands on the original Halo 3 gametype or map, or the new Reach map I've built (work in progress), just ask. Thanks all you fellow forgers!
Check out Crypto's Sacrafice gametype: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-casual-maps/107846-sacrifice-water-hole.html You'll have to wait for him to sort out the links (he deleted the gametype for space, I might put it on my F/S for you)
Could you please, because no having this gametype for an upcoming LAN party I'm having would be a serious let down.
Oh crap I forgot about that, yeah if I remember I'll do it today. Added after 13 Hours 36 minutes: Sorry for this double post but the OP probably wouldn't notice this if I don't - Here's the link Edit: oooh wow you can't double post anymore
