    Hello ForgeHub,

I am currently making an Invasion map in Forge World(it will be my first map in Reach, I have made many in Halo 3 though).
It started out as a random map I made to get used to Forge 2.0 as well as getting familiar with the Forge World palette in preperation for a large scale map I will make in the future.
However I really liked how the map was going so I decided to make an Invasion map. Therefore I went to check the thread on required objects.

Unfortunately, I'm really confused with the Safe and Kill boundaries that you can place.
    So my questions are:

    1) Do I have to place Safe zones? Can I place Kill zones instead?
    2) Since my map is based in the "Alaska" and "Montana" areas, can I make Safe Zones large enough to fit each of the seperate areas in?
    3) Can I link Safe zones together? E.G. The Safe Zone is not big enough so I add another one on next to it. (I think this should work in theory but I have to double check)

I hope you guys can help me with this. Its is the only thing that slightly confuses me. Also I can't try questions 2 and 3 out at the moment, hence why I am asking them.

    1) You can place either, or both. Once you leave a hard safe zone, you die. If you leave a soft safe zone, you die after ten seconds. When you enter a hard kill zone, you die. If you enter a soft kill zone, you die after ten seconds.
    2) I'm pretty sure that you can make zones that are big enough to cover Montana and Alaska. Dimensions can be as high as 100.9.
    3) You can link as many safe zones together as you want. You just have to make sure that players don't leave one to get to the other; a little overlap between the two would probably work the best.

A lot of forgers are asking this question... Check this post out for an explanation of the differences between the different zones.

    1. Yes, Safe Zones and Kill zones function similarly... and Soft Safe Zones and Soft Kill Zones also function similarly. The thing to remember is that Safe and Kill Zones have higher priority than the Soft Zones (ie: a soft safe zone inside a safe zone is is overwritten by the safe zone.

    2. Yes, the zones can be very large (100 unit radius).

    3. They are not linked, but you can overlap Soft Safe and Safe zones...

You will need safe zones and kill zones to mark the boundaries of the map, and this can be done with one or two huge safe zones and kill zones inside them, or with walls made from Kill zones.
As long as you are within any safe zone, this can be in any safe zone on the map, not necessarily overlapped, you are safe, unless you are in a kill zone, which take priority.

The best way to do it would be one HUGE safe zone big enough to fit the entire map, and kill zones to stop people getting to places they shouldn't.

Hope that clears up any questions left form the first answerer.
