    Hey guys, my first map on Forgehub, I hope you like it!

    My remake of the map Warfare 1918 by Z0mbie Kitten and Izano Slayer.

    Special thanks to my friends in the video for helping to test the map.

    I give full credit to Z0mbie Kitten and Izano Slayer for the original idea. I loved this map in Halo 3 and I thought I would bring it back until the point in time where they remake it (if at all).

    For best results have at least a 8 player 4v4 match. Remember, the more the merrier!

    The object of the game is to take and hold as many trenches as possible and to score points until the time runs out. It's pretty simple, but fun.

    The map can support up to 8 players on each team (RED and BLUE). It is suggested to have at least ONE Grenadier at all times and for the majority of people to pick Ranger or Corpsman. With bigger games the Medic class and Infiltrator class will become more useful but in 8 player (4v4) matches or less the medic class is not very useful.

    4v4: 1 Grenadier, 3 Corpsmen/Rangers
    5v5: 1 Grenadier, 1 Medic, 3 Corpsmen/Rangers
    6v6: 1 Grenadier, 1 Medic, 0-1 Infiltrator, 3-4 Corpsmen/Rangers
    7v7: 1-2 Grenadiers, 1 Medic, 1 Infiltrator, 3-4 Corpsmen/Rangers
    8v8: 2 Grenadiers, 1-2 Medics, 1 Infiltrator 3-4 Corpsmen/Rangers

    On the map there are two falcons located on the landing pads in each of the spawn areas for both teams.

    For an artillery and anti-air turret sort of thing, I put a Rocket Warthog in each base to combat the Falcons and provide support.

    There is also 1 sniper rifle located inside each spawn area to provide support, easily take out the turret gunners in the middle trench, and take out the Rocket Warthog user.

    Hope you guys like it! Please tell me about anything I can fix on the map. In the video you can see the uneven territory in the first trenches on both the Red and Blue side, that is fixed now.

    Looks fun, like the size and idea of the map, for i am working on a similar map atm. where are the vehicles, and the load outs. Send me a message if you would like to forge sometime

    This is fun, and you should make a V2. The only problem is that it is a little open. Perhaps putting simple cover would solve the problem. Good map.

    I havent played it yet but from the idio it looks like tee rocket hog could do a lot of damage to a team holding out in the mid trench.

    I suggest you lower the hog futher into the floor so i cant be used to kill peapole on the ground

    From what I noticed when we were playing it, the rocket hog wasn't over powered against people on the ground. The rockets really move too slow (and aren't as powerful as normal rockets) to do too much damage, they will usually only take down shields and almost never kill unless the target is low shields or close. Additionally, the sniper rifles and precision weapons do a good job of eliminating the rocket hog user if they are doing too much damage. I would think that as the number of people playing increases, the amount of damage the rocket warthog can do will increase.

    The reason I decided not to put any cover in "no mans land" is because I wanted people to either A, have to clear a trench before trying to moving up, or B, utilize teamwork to keep the defending players down until you could get close enough to lob some grenades in. and jump in with them. I am considering making some small points of cover, but not much.

    Agreed. A necessary part of any trench map is some kind of weapon that makes it deadly to be outside the trenches. Otherwise whats the point of them? Also as for rockets being overpowered, they're pretty easy to shoot down too. Don't get why more falcon gunners don't do that since they never quit seeking (infinite maneuvering fuel ftw).

    I really like the look of this map and I'm about to download it after the post. The only thing I would say is to add more variety to the trenches - maybe trenches that connect the different levels, for instance, and making some of the crosswise trenches end before the edge (perhaps have one end 1/3 before one edge and the far side ends 1/3 before the opposite edge) just to add a bit more variety to it.

    But yeah still looks great as is, and i'll give it a shot next time i'm hosting and have 10+ people.

    I'm not sure what you mean--but I think you're talking about how I labeled the territories. I labeled them with 1 being the closest to the main spawn, 2 being between the middle trench and 1, and 3 being in the middle ( so like 1--2--3--2--1). If you and/or others think it would be better to have it labeled 1,2,3,4,5 or something else, I can change that, or you can do it yourself.

    I loved this map in Halo 3, and with Loadout's, Falcon's, and the Rocket Hog idea, this looks like it will be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to testing this.

    This is definitely going in the playlist for our custom games. Great job with the map man, looks pretty intense and very fun.

    Wow, this is cool. (I know the user name is different, but I got banned) It sure feels great to click on a map and see your gamer tag on there as the original creator. It's cool to see people liked Trench Wars so much to remake it on reach. We had this idea, but then decided to just go ahead and make Trench wars 2 rather than procrastinating it even more. (It would be done, but I came down with Dengue fever and haven't really played reach that much yet, as I've been so sick)

    But blah blah blah, I like the map. It holds true to the spirit of the original map, and adds new changes. I can't say I'll be able to play it soon (vomits), but when I do, I'll really make an effort to edit a review in here.

    One suggestion: Get rid of the medic and replace it with a sniper and magnum, rather than a plasma pistol. Make his AA something other than dropshield...

    I need to play the map before I say more, but add a sniper load-out, rather than just one on the map.

    Looks great, looking forward to a game on it.

    Wow that looks great. You should add some more sandbags along the edges of trenches etc, and often, no man's land wasn't as flat as that, maybe break it up a bit with some small prodruding rocks and bits of debris.

    Thanks for taking a look at it and the feedback will be much appreciated. Can't wait to see your guys' remake (it'll most likely be alot better than mine lol), get better soon! :)

    When I play-tested the map a few times with my friends, I noticed that the majority of the people would pick the sniper class, and it was boring because 2-3 of the people were either sitting back and sniping, or it was just a massacre of the people coming over the top after re-spawning (it became more of Sniper VS Sniper and not a lot of intense action). In the H3 version it was a random spawn in the sniper class and once taken it took a bit to re-spawn, making the sniper class more balanced. Just a single sniper rifle in the base makes it so that most of the time only one person per team has a sniper rifle.

    (I feel weird telling the creator of the original how it works lol)

    I really wanted to make more sandbag cover, but you're only allowed 12 :( In the next update for the map I'm going to include a little bit more cover. I'm sort of afraid to try to break it up with rocks because it REALLY obstructs the view of people firing from the trenches, but I'm going to attempt to make single person fox hole like covers throughout no mans land.

    Well in that case, sure thing. By the way, we're not making a remake, but a new map. It doesn't have many similarities, but plays like a board game type thing. You'll see.... you'll all see.... *evil laugh*

    You could add a 2 scorpians on both sides with High Respawn Times to add a bit of a twist.

    Ok well, as always, Izano Slayer said it all. Its really cool that you liked our map enough to make a remake. Well, so like 30 minutes ago Izano and I play tested the map. It was only 2v2 though so I guess I cant give that great of criticism, but here is what we thought anyways: Well, Im not so sure about Izano, but I wished there was a banshee. I dont like to always need two people to use a flying vehicle, so it would be nice to have a banshee to go solo. And like Trench Wars, I guess make it spawn in later on. also, if I remember correctly, I didnt like the middle trench. You have to crouch to stay covered which can get annoying. In my opinion, that trench should be deeper and wider. Well, whichever trench that was....Ok well I have to get off, so Ill give more critic later.
    And like Izano said, we are making a whole new line of maps. Not just a remake, but we will make Trench Wars into, well I cant tell you what, but it will be awesome. And I believe we are going to be making a whole line of war maps.... I think. So just wait...... :)

    I played it and it was very fun. But I had to make some changes : a wraith instead of the falcon, some bunkers in the first tranchees...
    You really did an amazing job but I find it a little too symetrical, too geometric : the first world war was ugly and dirty, and your map seems too proper.
