    Description:

Please note that the following information is not to be considered canon and should not be viewed or talked about as such.

    The beginning of the end

He fought and won. This is the Spartan who survived Reach, who fought along side hundreds who died to save humanity. He single handedly beat an entire armada of covenant and the Flood, menace of the galaxy. But has his luck finally run out?
7 hours after last sighting of Master Chief

Master Chief's frigate piece has landed on the mysterious planet it was floating near (see legendary Halo 3 ending) He has beaten most of the rest of the COvenant, their last forces retreating to parts unknown to possibly regroup or merely reproduce. But soon Cortana soon discovers the retreat location.

    Not soon enough...

Cortana: Chief, wake up. We have hit solid ground. But that's not why I woke you.
John-117: What did you need me for.
The Covenant, I don't think we killed them a-
*CRASH! BANG!*No time to talk, get moving! Yank me!

S-117 puts Cortana in his armor*
Quite a coincidence that they landed on the exact same planet we landed on.
I don't think it's much of a coincidence at all
I'm sending a distress signal feed through your HUD. Oh God I sure hope someone gets it
    They will.
Master chief and Cortana rush to exit the frigate. It isn't long before the Covenant fire on them and damage Master Chief severely. Barely making it out of the storm of fire, Master Chief spots an armor laid out on the ground, with what looked like a bubble shield mechanism. He picks up a weapon he finds on the ground (you decide from 5. explained later) And jumps away from the frigate. He soon finds himself at a Covenant outpost.
Looks like we still have a mess to clean up...

Hope you enjoyed the story, now onto the game. As you have guessed, this firefight takes place after the post credit events of Halo 3. Master Chief is making his final stand against the Covenant, trying to eliminate the rest of the armada that retreated from the Ark. Master chief has donned some new armor (yours to be exact) that has a Drop Shield mechanism. He has found a weapon on the frigate that is chosen from five kinds of weapons. Here are your loadouts.

Each weapon comes with it's own skill and challenge level. It all depends on your Play-style.

Challenge levels are represented by *

Skill levels are measured by ^

    Sentry
    ***
    ^^
    [IMG]

The classic weapon of almost all Halo series, if you choose Master Chief to find this weapon, then you prefer more of a casual game style. THis weapon is effective for most foes besides Jackals, which are a little tougher to kill. High Rate of fire is balanced out by it's poor range.

    Marksman
    [IMG]
    ***
    ^^^^

If you chose to have him find this weapon, you are a more hang back type of person. The challenge represented is outweighed by the skill it takes to master. Effective against most enemies but Brute chieftains and hunters.

    Guard
    [IMG]
    ****
    ^^
If you chose to have Master chief find this weapon, you like to be up close and personal. There is a great challenge with such a weapon which is getting close enough to kill. Effective for most things except Jackal Snipers and normal Jackals.

    Grenadier
    [IMG]
    ****
    ^^^^
Have John find this weapon aboard the ship, you crave skill and a challenge that's hard to win. The grenade launcher is powerful but it is tough to aim and poor to use against individual enemies (this might be a good time to mention you only get one weapon a loadout and one life) Good for groups of enemies and vehicles, less so for individual enemies.

    Demon
    [IMG]
    *****
    ^^^^^
The weapon he was scripted to find, and the most challenging loadout yet. Pick this and you are either downright suicidal or just love a frustrating, teeth gnashing, throw your damn controller against the wall shouting "F*** you Bungie and your Gay A** game!!!* kind of challenge. 'Nuff said, honestly.

    Player traits and tips
In this game your power is stronger, akin to that of Halo 3, but your shields are weak but recharge quickly, as does health. Every loadout but Demon spawns with four frags, and there are no weapon drops, only unlimited ammo crates. You stick with what you get, and you don't throw a fit. Covies only consist of those you find in Halo 3 so using tactics from Halo 3 is advisable. You may be Master Chief but even John-117 used some sense on the battlefield. Use cover when needed, and deploy the Drop shield when needed, did I mention you get a drop Shield for each loadout. Return to base every now and then to replenish ammo or quickly recharge health.

The only two maps i recommend you to play on are Outpost and Holdout. Mostly outpost. Outpost, having a mix of close and long range capabilities make for very diverse gameplay. Recommended difficulties are Normal and Heroic. Your health and power gets a big cheify boost in the 2nd round, but Master Chief grows weary in the third round. be careful.

More detailed accounts of the rounds. IN each round a different skull is on, which influences some player traits and AI behavior. There are no other more distracting(and annoying) skulls that turn on at all so you don't have to worry about hearing the dreaded "Tough luck, catch and black eye on! Cloud on!" As I know some of you really hate hearing it and it takes away from the slight campaign like feel to it. Plus, I wanted you to pick a play-style and stick to it, having to constantly change based on skulls is just kinda dull and outdated.

    Red round, round 1

Mostly Jackals and grunts and other low ranking infantry, with some brutes mixed in between. Be careful as Hunters and Chieftains are your challenge at the end. Health and shields recharge quickly, but you are kind of weak. Power wise bullets shred enemy armor and shields, so make every shot count!

    Round 2 Blue

Jackals are common, grunts are rare, brutes will eat you till your bones are bare.

    Round Yellow 3

If you survive this you are one lucky chap. Brutes and hunter fill up this round, with hardly any low ranking enemies in sight. Survive this and you are most likely playing on Easy, or you are Master Chief.

And that's the jist of it. Have fun and enjoy the game.

You may have survived the Covenant for all three halo games, but can even luck pull you through this arduous challenge?

    This is S-117's LAST STAND!

Duly note that I am posting a leaderboard for this game. After you finish 3 games of this gametype, post your best score here and you will be compared to other players.

Nice to get some good feedback. I actually thought for a moment this would be too hard or too easy, or just plain unenjoyable.

Well, I'm back online and I'm one lucky bastard, because this is the first game I see. Zow, I remember creating the map that anti-flaming argument you were in started on--Halo 3 smash bros, months ago, remember? Sadly, thats not why I'm here. I'm only here to tell you that this is the most badass firefight game I've seen in my life. You are a genius to have come up with this, and I see you have an amazing sense and perception of halo. To be honest, when this was being described, my instant-scene-visualizing beastlyawesomeness mind's eye went to work picturing exactly what this would be like. I immediately pictured outpost and vowed to play this on it, no matter what was recomended. To my surprise it was recomended, and I know why. It really has the look of a world that a dozen ships just crashed in to, and the atmosphere of one observing the death of the halo ring. The only thing I hate is the simple fact that he 'randomly' sees perfectly good armor lying around, so he's strangly inclined to take his off so he may don it, even though the covenant approach. Other than that, Sweetness, bro. A sure DL from me.

Well how flattering. It's nice that you show your appreciation for my game. And MC actually barely escaped the Covies when he found the armor. And If your suit was damaged as hell and you found one in at least mildly good condition, wouldn't you grab it, run to a safe place and change?

Makes enough sense. I had seen his armor looking good as new as he boarded the ship, so I'm still a little contraversial, but that doesn't matter. I DLd this and got to round 3, wave 2. SO CLOSE!
