Well over the past few weeks, I have been building a map like many of us. I got the idea from "The Cage" and I wanted to make my own version and so "The Cage V2" was born. I have 3 Pictures to show you. Remember this map is still being forged and only the basic layout is finished. A view showing most of the map. From the pictures you've shown it looks very open. The only cover you'll get on that map is if you're in one of the buildings. I would also suggest shortening that walkway in the final picture so that its closer to the main area of the map.
I will be adding a good amount of cover later, like I said it is incomplete, And the walkway is of the right length as the race to the rockets have been timed so that there will be a battle for them. I do have other maps planed so if this one does not work I have more Ideas.
The good and the bad are all found through testing. Finish the map, give it some testing and then you will see whether you want to continue with it or scrap it.
I agree, give it another name. I was expecting a map where someone had made "improvements" to the existing Cage. And remember that "cover" doesn't mean "add crates". If we take the Cage as an example, it is a small map but in most cases you don't need to go too far to get out of your enemy's line of sight. Dropping down to Rockets/PL is quite a drop and the platform is open but its not visible from many other areas of the map. Or the platform by the shotgun spawn, that little bit doesn't lead anywhere but its a good place to let your shields recharge when attacking the base.
