    Shotgun Platform/Ring connectors/whatever you want to call look slightly different. They now provide a bit more cover from all angles.

    It looks like this would make some great flying gameplay since there are no cover advantages on the ground. The bottom part of the map seems like it would be underused because people want a height advantage, but it will still work well for players that run out of jetpack and need somewhere to land.

    This map works really well with KoTH as it keeps the gameplay moving between the different levels. Slayer caused everyone to go to the top but with the update I did it should change that. Just needs testing.

    Its a bit smaller than i thought it was going to be. Only complaint im seeing is the cover thing, it looks like height advantage is going play a huge role, even in games like KOTH.

    To be honest i would really like to see some stockpile on this, just cause its my fav gametype and id like to really see how it plays on a map like this.

    If you ever need anymore testers for this, please hit me up with an offer. I would love to play on this map. I love the maps that have a higher level of abstractness. =]

    PEOPLE, the cover 'issue' you are referring to does not exist. Yeah sure the top is going to dominate but it wont overpower. There are quick ways to reach the top plus the top has less cover than the lower levels.

    Funny you should mention that because I have set it up for stockpile but just haven't got around to testing it on that gametype.

    The design is really neat, but isn't it incredibly easy to fall off to your doom? I would think as soon as you started trading fire and strafing/jumping around, you'd be plummeting into the water like a third of the time. How did that go in your play tests?

    I'm thinking if he does some careful weapon placement, the lower levels should be popular enough. Power weapons are usually a big draw and something Bungie uses in several of it's map (like The Cage's lower level).

    The weapons that are on the map are:
    - 1x Sniper (its located around the middle, so not the high ground but not all the way at the bottom either)
    - 2x shotgun (located straight off team spawns)
    - 4x frags (located at the top levels)
    - 4x plasma nades (located on the bottom level)
    - 2x Plasma Repeater (located on the bottom level) - may remove these as no one ever used them
    - 4x DMR (located on the outer ring)
    - 4x Assault rifle (located on the outer ring)
    - 5x health pack (2 at top on long respawns, 2 at shotgun spawns, 1 at the bottom on quick respawn)

    Glad you fixed that z-clipping, it looked real bad in the video.

    I liked the halo 3 version of the map and like this version in Reach, much much more, but the name gyroscope fits the map style, but it technically isn't a gyroscope. As picked up before, Jetpacks will work well on this map, I think a sniper up top would work well and keep the hills as low as possible, only keep one up top. This will keep the gameplay down to the lower half, which will make it much more competitive..

    It looks to me like you don't have any draws for the bottom level. Maybe move the sniper to the bottom level, along with half the DMRs?

    this map is perfect for CTF or KOTH because of all the movement

    In stockpile, it might be a pain to carry the flags around without jetpacks. It seems like it just be annoying in general to get around without a jetpack.

    I think there might be setting that allow carriers to use their armor abilities simultaneously to holding the objective.

    Surprisingly no. Wherever you are there is always a quick way to get back into the action without a jetpack.

    But yes, jetpacks are extremely fun with this map.

    Yeah, I've tested this map twice with Crypto and given him a little advice to keep the gameplay flowing. He's executed it all very well and even gone on to do extra adjustments himself to further the games flow.

    I must admit, with KOTH it works perfectly. You're never in one area for more than 30s (lol)... I haven't played other objective gametypes with it yet, but it does work and for those of you that don't know; Jetpacks aren't a standard class in KOTH. You can get to the top easily from pretty much all locations, it'll take you 15 seconds at most to get from any area to the top.

    It creates some lovely unique gameplay with all the aerial combat, and as addressed, jetpacks are hugely satisfying on this map. The ring spacing is perfect to allow you to fly around with hitting too many objects and the distance between the rings allows you to float around and land to recharge at regular intervals.

    The only problem I've found so far (and addressed to crypto already) is the spawn placements on the rings are a little.. dangerous. Occasionally you land on a spawn that allows you to walk immediately off and plummet to your death. I've been told this is fixed now.

    Long story short, it's a great map as it stands, and with further improvement, definately feature worthy. Great job Crypto.

    Just giving this a little bump...

    Having play tested this with you, I can say that the issue raised about movement is a nonissue as it is easy to move about. I still think that adding a plasma launcher would be pretty awesome on this. If you do, place it on the bottom?

    While the top is where everyone tends to go on slayer, it has no ammunition up there, which requires you to move back down to get ammo. It has a nice flow around the map.

    It's cool to see this finally done, looks cool, but it seems like if you're at the top you would have an advantage.
