I just received an HD camera that I order off of woot.com, but I have a problem. I don't know what to do with it! I kind of bought it on impulse without really considering what I wanted to use it for. I've been thinking about maybe doing a vlog or recording music (piano or guitar). Any ideas? My main problem, however, is lack of editing software. Does anyone know of some good quality, free (or cheap) video and/or audio editing software? I'm going to try out Audacity for audio, and I've been using Movie Maker for video, but it is somewhat limited. All suggestions are appreciated!
Good movie editing software isn't free, or cheap. Sony Vegas and Adobe After Effects are very good, but cost a lot. I just suggest you pirate them.
So much for being subtle, huh? Lol. I'd like to avoid that, but thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into those programs.
I lold hard! -.- But yah, Melt is right, if you are being serious about making a video blog or something like that, I suggest getting your hands on some software, but have a little practice around with it before you start uploading. Also, don't be all "HAI I'M IN YOUR FACE AND MAKING EVERYTHING REALLY AWKWARD!!" Please.
You mean people don't like that? Excuse me while I delete some videos from my YouTube account... Really though, I'm going to see what I can do with Movie Maker for now. If fortune smiles on me and I can somehow afford After Effect or Sony Vegas, I'll transfer over to one of those. I'll be looking for substitutes (fat chance, right?) in the mean time.
Sony Vegas is okay to start out with, but Adobe Premiere is what most more serious people use to work with. I believe Vegas is less than $100 so it's a good bet to go for that one.
Yes I agree with you and I think Sony Vegas is okay to start out with, but Adobe Premiere is best option for any beginner and the both application have very nice tools for video editing.
If sony vegas pro is too much for you, you can go with the cheaper Sony vegas movie studio. I think they may also do student discounts im not sure.
