Oh hi there! You may be familiar with our "Want To See a Map Featured" thread from Halo 3. Well, here's one for Reach! It goes a little something like this... Want to see your favourite Halo: Reach map featured? Think it's great and deserves to be showcased on the front page? If so then you can recommend maps you think should be featured in this thread, and it will be checked out by members of staff. Rules You may submit a maximum of 3 maps per week. You may NOT submit your own maps. Originality is very important to us. If it's just a plain old game, we're less likely to pick that map for feature. Gameplay > Aesthetics. Good looking maps that don't play well aren't good. If anything is slightly wrong with a map, such as dodgy spawns, it's escapable, there are framerate problems, etc. then it's probably not going to make it. Make your choices count. If you show us a bunch of horrible maps, we're less likely to look at your recommendations in future. Include a link to the map thread for each recommendation. Comments must be on topic. If you want to recommend a map from Halo 3, then go here instead. Now bring on the maps!
SpaceStation *cough*DeathStar!!!*cough* by TheClubhouse I nominated this sheerly because of it's accuracy to the films and because it looks freaking awesome.
As far as Race goes, ima go ahead and nominate the popular "Speed Element" http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-race-maps/105164-speed-element.html For obvious reasons =D
Leviathan by PulseKiller This is the only really well thought out and well-playing map I've seen posted so far.
This map actually played really well with 7 people on slayer. I wouldn't mind giving this one a vote.
[ Brute Chieftain ] Also guys, seconding, thirding, and so on does not make a map any more of a contender at getting a feature than a map that has received one nomination.
the best guardian remake ive seen so far http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-competitive-maps/106096-guardian.html
Whoops! Didn't see that you couldn't nominate your own maps. In that case, this Damnation remake, by Cellxz. Played a few games on it and it brought back a ton of memories. Jetpack REALLY changed the way the map played, but certainly not for the worse.
Atrium Not the typical "boardwalks-linking-platforms-together" map that the majority of reach maps have been so far. Looks like it should have shipped with the game, and plays better than any of the Bungie Forge maps that did. Very well thought out map, forged to a very high quality.
For an Aesthetic map: I nominate: Serenity From Firefly, an amazing and beautiful rendition of the ship of us Browncoats dreams. VERY aestheticly pleasing. For a fun zombie map: I nominate: Vicious Village a small cozy villa filled with nasty brain chompers. Though there are moments I feel some parts of the village are to close up over all the most fun zombie games I have played in Reach so far. Best remake atm: I nominate: Guardian Someone has already mentioned it and I agree, this map brings back my favorite Halo 3 close quarters map with the correct style. Nice visuals and lots of fond memories reborn as I snag a kill from the gold room on some unsuspecting newb. I enjoyed this remake very much.
For competitive I nominate Vanilla by Sir GunnerGrunt Also for competitive but more of a casual feel I nomitate Harbor by my good friend TheHatofWin And for aesthetics I nominate Minis Tirith by Seidule. Not a very original idea but the aesthetics are pretty beast
