    I definitely don't remember Waterworks well enough to try to remake it; however, to those of you who loved the Halo 2 map, I'm glad this map could bring back some good memories.

    Another question, what is up with the land mine death pit?

    PS. I don't how many people are as good as mine friend with the jetpack, still worth the kill barrier.

    I just noticed that this map made Bungie's Most Recommended map variants and got about 500 downloads today alone (well over 1000 overall). Thanks for your help, everyone. I couldn't have imagined this in the first week!

    I will be releasing my next map, Vindication, to ForgeHub tomorrow.

    The death pit is just for fun. It's unlikely that you'll accidentally fall in there (unless you're a first-timer), but I thought it made casual games a little more interesting.

    The deathpit gets everyone each time. The mancannon kinda screams "JUMP IN HERE!"

    People learn fast though. Though they were upset at me for not warning them. . . .

    I could understand some people getting angry when their curiosity was rewarded by cold and unforgiving death. But do you think I should take it out of the map?

    It doesn't really add much gameplay value, I suppose. But the idea would be that the large walkways along that back wall are a big conveyor belt taking raw materials out of the mine....

    Plus you can set up a nice custom game with your friends and have unsuspecting enemies kill themselves, giving you a better chance at winning....

    It really isn't all that bad. Nothing requiring a huge change, especially if you like it. Its your map, after all, and I really have no complaint about the rest of the map.

    If it really bothers someone, they can fix it themselves with about two minutes worth of work.

    I agree with most of the relies here. Looks great. Plays well, although the mines get a bit annoying when someone does go in there cuz then they keep going off until the body disappears. I think the catwalk connected to the mine trap is a but to open, too easy to get shot down by med to long range weapons. I think provide some cover but not near the rocket launcher for counter measure. Outside of that it's real good.

    Holy smokes! This map is a lot of fun. It wouldn't make a great MLG map, but for custom games with friends, it's really really great. First, it looks amazing. Second, the tunnel is genius. Third, the cover is put around the map enough to give you a place to hide.

    True, there are a lot of weapons, but I kind of like that. If you're playing FFA with 8 or 9 people, it definitely works!

    Safe Havens would be fun, but I haven't tried it.

    Thanks flaminghelmet. That's pretty close to how I felt about it initially. The tunnel was originally above ground but moving it underneath made a huge difference.

    Still, the feedback in this thread has been good. The map is already well over 1500 downloads (in 2 weeks time), so I am pretty happy. I will make some improvements for version 2, which should land in a couple months. For now, I have other maps to release along with managing a new Forge-centered blog/website.

    To all future repliers, this will be my last post on this thread because I don't have much else to say and I don't want to necrobump. But thanks in advance for your feedback, everyone.

    Awesome map! The tunnel underneath is a great idea. Can't wait to try this bad boy out next time my friends and I play customs.

    Hahahaha...

    Actually, you may want to focus on making the open space in the middle a little more interesting for Version 2, and then I think it could definitely get featured....right now it is just a bunch of rocks scattered around.

    Don't get me wrong, I totally dig the map. Just saying... you could improve it, ya know?

    Did notice one thing while I was rummaging through your maps, particularly this one. For some strange reason I was forging around in Ore, and I broke out of your map, and what did I see but a platform, a tank, and a killball. What was this, I couldn't seem to see a reason for it and wondered if you had forgotten them there.

    Good question and thanks for the comment. Actually, there was a reason for this. The tank would spawn in the killball every so often and create an explosion sound effect. I put it at a safe distance, so when you play on the map, you'll hear a little blast now and then. Minor detail, but I had extra budget, so why not?

    Looking back, there are a lot of things I wish I had done differently on this map, but oh well. It was my first Reach post. You live and learn.

    I'll start working on an improved second version sometime in the near future. This version has almost 2000 downloads now, and if I can improve gameplay a bit, I would expect V2 to be quite successful. We'll see. Right now I'm more concerned about getting Mint some attention.

    Visually this map is sick. The lighting and effects. The tank explosion is a nice effect. I noticed, rather heard, that and wasn't sure if it was something you missed. The only other things I noticed were already mentioned (gav lift and objectives not game specific). I haven't had a chance to play it yet but construction wise I think its super creative... especially the claw. Everything is super solid.

    Incredible, the map seems solid, the weapons seem fitting, and the layout looks smooth like glass. The one thing I would do is put a soft kill zone on the top of the rock held by the crane, because if someone got a jet pack and landed on top of it, that would lead to some serious camping issues. otherwise, this map MIGHT only need a texture overlap and alignment checkup.
