Remake Memento

    Hello, this is a very close remake of the map relic from halo 2. i strived to get the proportions exactly the same. the entire island is made of coliseum walls so it is slightly bumpy in a few areas, but there's not enough to cause too many problems. all the weapons are updated for reach's sandbox. carbines replaced by needle rifles, BR's for DMR's, Smg's for AR's, etc. also, mongooses have been added to each base. and a grenade launcher was added close to the blue base.

    i have two versions of the map, memento, and Memento CTF, one is for slayer/headhunter/juggernaut/etc, the other is for capture the flag/assault. the only difference being the ramps on the front of the structure are removed. also memento CTF has a focus rifle instead of a sniper rifle under the covenant sniper tower, and removes the revenant. (i put the revenant in to make the vehicles more balanced during symmetrical games) everything else is the same.

    i also put the teleporter switch in, there is a button which says "hold X to flip mongoose" which flips a mongoose detonating fusion coils which unblocks a teleporter. it works 100% of the time. i tried to make everything accurate. unfortunately i have reached some sort of global object limit (which i didn't know existed), so if i need to make additions they will be very limited. also, i was having trouble setting up gametypes so please tell me if any mistakes were made.

    this is my very first map that i have posted on forgehub, so i hope you enjoy it.

    lol never thought about making a remake of relic, but this looks like a very nice map. download right now=D

    This is outstanding. Aside from a very accurate remake of one of H2's best DLC maps, you also added a wonderful teleporter mechanic. Sick **** right there :)

    i couldn't for the life of me figure out how to make objects not appear in different gametypes, without rebuilding the ramps on the front for every gametype.

    if you know how that would be a great help.

    I believe you have to rebuild it for every gametype. Titan uses a removable bridge, you could see how he did it.

    This is an amazing remake, however, it's too dull. If you have some more budget left (and I'm sure you do) try to spice it up a bit with some aesthetics.

    ummm, well i have exactly $25 left.

    but i literally cannot place an object without deleting another. i have used so many pieces that i seem to have hit a global object limit.

    this is also why i cannot rebuild the ramps for every gametype, i don't have the pieces.

    Good remake, I've actually been working on a Relic remake for awhile and couldn't think of a way to get the teleporter to work, very clever. However when i downloaded yours the flipping of the mongoose only worked some of the time for me.

    that's actually quite surprising. cause i literally tested it over one hundred times once i got it built. it worked every single time, no problems.

    that is the third redesign i have made of it.

    do you think you could post a film of the game where it wasn't working? just so i can see if i can fix it? it would be greatly appreciated.

    I would like to point out; it didn't work for me either. Did you try it with more than one person in the game? That might be the problem.

    i tried it by myself a bunch of times, and then did it while my friend was in the game. both times it worked.

    it might be the mongoose not flipping, which i thought i fixed on my 3rd redesign.

    i also had a weird thing happen where i saved the game, and when i went back the fusion coils never spawned, like i never put them in. and i had to put them back in.

    i don't know, but i'll look into it. thanks for the feedback.

    Nice map, I loved this map from Halo 2, you made the feel of it, and it is really fun to hang out and play this with my friends and bring back some good game play I had on this map. This is a great remake. But the tower you know could have been made with the Ring in the background because the ring is in Forge World.

    This map needs more viewing. This is by far the best relic remake out there. It may not look as pretty as some as the others built in the canyon (for obvious reasons), but it more than makes up for the looks with much more accurate size, hills and overall map design.

    Unfortunately some people may be turned off by the bland, gray color scheme... but those people are missing out on a great remake. Great job and I hope you work on other remakes (haven't seen any good burial mounds remakes yet...).

    I wish I had specific constructive criticism for you, but without going back and playing the original, it's hard to pinpoint things. I know there are parts that don't feel 100% accurate yet but It's pretty damn close. I hope maybe to see an updated version of this (hopefully with the side ramps auto-removed for ctf).

    Thanks for the remake.

    ps - I personally have not had any problems with the switch so far
